Meticulous !!!!
Interesting, never heard of the guy but do have a small tear in the seat of my CSL which needs sorting. Thanks for recommendation.

Chris, can you or someone remind me who was who? I've used them in the past and was going to again soon. Was Dave the older chap?

Thanks

I'm going to get into trouble on this one as one the older John is my mate and the younger Dave is my brother-in-law.

Yeah, Dave I think is the younger of the two, Dave is ex-BMW Trained, that's how I know him, as he is the only person I trust to work on my M5. He has now gone out to start up in Glenkindie. I am off out to see him tomorrow, to get something checked on the porsche, first time, so to check out his facilities at Glenkindie.

As for John, I dont know his background, other than the 5 years he's been at Insch. John remains at Insch.

Thanks Chris. Dave and John did some good work on my M5 last year - new brakes all round and a full set of front suspension arms and bushes. It was quite a job and I was scared to risk JC. D&J did an excellent job. Sad to hear they had parted ways.

Let us know how you get on at Glenkindie.

Cheers,

Hey guys, any recommendations for somewhere in or around Aberdeen to just swap tyres onto a new set of alloys? Ones on the car at the moment are only a couple months old.

Been out twice now to Glenkindie, not as far as I thought once you start using the back roads behind Alford. Dave flushed and changed the differential fluids and transfer box fluids, and timing chain tensioner in the Porsche.

The place is good, older and needs work, however Dave has some good renovation & expansion ideas. The garage has also a petrol station & little shop.

I am very picky who works on my cars and how they handle my cars. I wouldn't have anyone else than Dave working on them. I take them to Dave as he spends time doing things properly, gives the work the care and attention that the dealers lack, and no job seems to big, plus for my M5, Dave is a BMW trained tech.

Thanks for the useful feedback Chris, agreed I was impressed by the care and attention paid when I've had work done in the past. Something main dealers could learn something from.

I'll be heading out to Glenkindie in the near future, shame he wasn't closer :-)

Cheers

Just been to get tyres swapped over onto new wheels, used budget on causeway end in Aberdeen; good guys, good job, good price and even good music! I actually enjoyed having to take the car to a garage!

Based just outside Forth, I've used them for a set of wheels and several motorbike frames etc. Good standard of work and reasonable money. They have tyre changing kit etc

Anyone we'd recommend for alarm / immobiliser fitting in East or Midlothian?

The Clifford one in my car has given up the ghost after 15 years or so, I'd be looking for somebody sympathetic to replace it as non-invasively as possible. smile

Any good places in either Falkirk or Edinburgh that has plenty of knowledge in Jap cars? Needing a garage to check the tappet clearances aswell as oil+filter+plugs.

I get my own parts so just need a friendly garage that'l trust me and use the parts I supply them with.

Just had the jag's crappy aftermarket stereo completely sorted by Beaver <snigger> audio on great western road, Glasgow. Billy understood immediately the issues, my biffness with electronics and sorted me out with a cheap but spot on bit of Alpine audio, fitted it at no cost and showed me how to work it. Superb service. V happy customer.

Hi is this thread purely recomendations or are bad experiences allowed to be shared, or is there another thread for that?
