As a few were looking for a run (and a few have asked when we are having the last one of the year). Is anyone up for a run to the Oban aera on the 11th October.

Was looking at meeting up in Oban with Inverness/Aberdeen/Edinburgh/Glasgow (and surrounding groups) making their own routes for getting there and Lunch in Oban perhaps visit a distillery (just an idea) and perhaps a run over to Perth?? Suggestions very welcome I am just putting a few ideas down.

Or just a run over to Oban for Lunch with like minded car folk blowing off the cobwebs before their cars head for cover for the winter..... (god what we really need is a place like Ace Cafe)

Cheers

Ave

Whilst it is not the Ace Cafe the chippie in Tyndrum is really nice, has a big car park and is well located for some driving adventures.

Oban is a good idea for a meet up however, it may be difficult getting somewhere to park any significant number of cars together. Especially if you want to keep an eye on them.

I may however be in an ocean going vessel masquerading as a car.

fine, i'll just go in my polo then,

pity cause the bikes more fun, and better.

the polo will ruin the turnout of fancy cars!

The 4th & 5th dates are not set in stone guy's. If people would prefer the 11th or 12th then we can go with that. These are only suggestions at the mo to see the interest.

As for eating?? Correct with the parking as I know we all like to keep an eye on our p&j's I did find this place http://www.dunstaffnagemarina.co.uk/company/locati... have not called them to see what parking they have. Has anyone ever eaten there?

Not eaten there but I have had a beer and slept in a yacht there.
It is a bit out of Oban but it is a decent spot.

There is also a place beyond Oban called 'The Barn' that is a decent pub.

I wouldn't recommend going to the restaurant at the Dunstaffnage marina had a couple of bad experiences this year and last at it food wise. Go to the Oyster Inn about 1-1/2 miles along the road at the Connel bridge. Good food, car park out the front and back, great views over the water and has a pub called the Glue Pot next door too.

Might take the Griff out for a run from Aberdeen to join you as i get back from offshore on 3rd.Would be good to meet up with some fellow PHer's as I'm just new to it.

would love to go as ive only met a minority of the scottish ph'ers. unfortunately I have to go to states on a course until end of nov. surely too many people wont be putting their cars away for winter! hmmph!

no sub 150bhp/tonne would be a good rule (joke).

That's what I am looking for. Cheers for the suggestion TallGriff. http://www.oysterinn.co.uk/ Want somewhere with plenty parking for all you guy's motors and half the websites I have been on don't give you much on pictures.

You are more than welcome to break your "cherry" with us lot on a run. They are all a great bunch of people.

I was hoping people who are interested could give a preference to what date they can make it?? Not that long ago people were looking for a edinburgh meet/run so I thought some might been up for it, but that section seems eerily quiet.

Come on guy's Oban is not that far away for a jaunt?

My one opinion on dates is that I've a work BBQ on the 3rd, so although i could probably avoid the hangover on the 4th really, I'd rather have one of the other dates mentioned. But that's just me being selfish!
