Would appear so... even in recent posts here there are others of a similar vintage.
Interestingly a quick check on the government MOT check shows it has no MOT.
its been covered many many many times on here over the years but police cars are exempt from MOT regs, Interestingly a quick check on the government MOT check shows it has no MOT.
funnily enough so are taxis and private hire cars as we can run a Certificate of compliance rather than an MOT so don't show up in MOT checks either if we exercise that option

fleet list for the whole of Police Scotland. The information is provided in the table
below. Please note that the fleet can change on a daily basis as part of the vehicle
replacement programme."
Undated but looks to be over three years old, and would seem to be clearly identifying the marked vehicle list.

Interestingly(!) the vast majority are SF registrations...? We knew that anyway. I suppose it makes sense that if they’re buying 5 marked and 5 unmarked at the same time, they’ll be close in registration. Probably wise to mix it up a bit for true stealth
It's just where the car registration is allocated. Nothing to do with when it was bought, or anything else (I appreciate you're joking about the stealth thing)Vast majority of cars sourced in the central belt (Glasgow) = vast majority registered in the central belt and allocated an associated prefix (Glasgow, prefix SF for example).
M6 Southbound today about Manchester area there was an un-marked metallic brownish Ford Tourneo (I think) with blacked-out windows dealing with a stranded car on a live lane.
Lots of hidden blue strobes flashing
No way would I have expected a vehicle of that type (full sized transit) being a Traffic Car.

Dark grey / black 3 series saloon SF6xKJU seems to have been patrolling the M8 around Harthill / Livingston of late... spotted it a couple of times, lit up on the hard shoulder. Both times being driven by a lady with a pony tail.
Edit:
Checked the Wiki... SF64KJU and seems West Edinburgh / M8 is a regular haunt for it

A bit off topic, but some interesting stuff on there. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/293840/resp...
The old P999TAY reg which was originally on a Saab which patrolled between Dundee and Perth is now on a Police Iveco Cargo... police with private plates, who knew?
Our local Landrover Defender looks to be the oldest in the fleet 2002 and still in daily use around the borders... try out running that boy racers!
And SF14NNY ? What poor fanny has to drive that around? Is it a private reg too?
Police Scotland in Aberdeen (& shire) are using a load of "run of the mill" cars as under cover units. I know the garage that does all their servicing up here and they have had all sorts in, including 8 year old Mazda 3 MPS's etc. Gone are the days of them just using Audi's & BMW's here....
