On the assumption that you mean an independant Porsche specialist rathet than the OPC at Braehead there is a choice of 2:

George Morrison: http://www.glasgowonline.co.uk/info/10495/

Peter McAnna: http://www.motortuneshotts.co.uk/main/info/index.h...

Both come recommended by guys on here - but you have to book ahead as they're busy - cos they're half the price of the OPC!

Deutch tec at Charing X in glasgow are well worth looking at. I have used them many times and have always found the very technically adept and reasonable in price. They also do all the mechanical work for Scottish Motor Services, family link there, between them.
Also they Hillclimb a 911, if you were at Boness last year you may have seen it clout the hay bales somewhat firmly.
I also have use RPM in Maryhill in Glasgow, ver good they are too. They also have a motorsport connection, preparing several 911 that run at Knockhill

For service go to stup in Stirling. His garage is SP autobahn http://www.spautobahn.com 07973 385 463

Stuart really knows his stuff and is ultra careful with your car... best of all he won't rip you off. That's where my S4 goes. You will see his name branded about a lot of the forums for his expertise in working with porkers.

I've used RPM in Maryhill as well. Very good.
They gave me a quote to do the work which I agreed to and the final bill ended up about half the price of the quote! When I asked them to confirm the price, they said the job took them half the time so they adjusted the price. Very honest of them.

I've used Peter at Motortune, Shotts to look after my 968 for the last 5 years and would highly reccomend. Great service and fair pricing.

I, however, will never go back there. Proving the point that you can't please all of the people all of the time. I am prepared to accept that I am a fussy customer. I will be going back to George Morrison in Ruthrglen when any of my cars needs anything technical. He impressed me with his knowledge and capabilities.

Just came across this post as a result of desperately trying to find someone myself.
All i can say is TAKE IT TO GEORGE MORRISON!
My Boxster 986 developed a nasty sounding rattle after I missed its annual service & after reading all the blogs & listening to all the Youtube videos I was convinced it was the IMS (or fabled 'Death Rattle')
I priced all the parts & tried several mechanics & none of them would take the job on ("I dont have the right tools, I cant be held responsible for getting all the metal out the engine if it is the IMS etc".)
I tried George after reading about him on here & he said "bring it round today & we'll have a listen & take it from there". Within 2 minutes he'd diagnosed it as something completely different from the IMS (a huge relief) & within 24 hours my car was as good as new!
This guy is as genuine as they come & his garage is a mecca for all things porsche. Ill be going there religiously to keep up with my services from now on. So don't worry yourself into a state - 99% of the IMS stuff is paranoia - just take it to George!

I believe the last time he had a problem with one of his cars that others couldn't fix.... a certain porsche spealists on here fixed it for him.

You porky guys are lucky.... you have 2-3 garages up here who are know there way around your cars.

I've been using George Morrison for 3 years now to service my Cayenne after being unimpressed by the OPC...

Very impressed by him and his team and wouldn't hesitate in recommending him...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but has George relocated or gone out of business?
