Looking at a 400SE on the weekend with the intention of buying. Any horror stories/things to lookout for that are particular to 400's?

Probably the most important is service history. I looked at about 7 whilst buying several years ago. The quality varied hugely! What was interesting though, is that higher mileage examples weren't necessarily 'more used looking'. So if you do come across a higher mileage example with a good spec/history - it may be worth looking at. Also I would consider 60K quite high miles for this type of car . Good Luck! Let us know how you get on!

What colour is it ? is it a reb one ? does it have a cone air filter mounted directly to the airflow meter, which intern is mated directly to the Plenum ? Does it have the alternator fitted to the other side of the engine ? and does it have fuill stainless braided hoses throughout ? If so, I know this car ... its very very quick !
