My puny 4.0l wedge kicks out about 320bhp and around 300 torques.

Ok Wedgies,
From what I have read I think an RV8 of this capacity has the potential to deliver 270hp at the crank, but it will need decent gas flowed heads and other induction mods to do so.
John Eales has a comprehensive 3.9/40 package, that is invariably dyno'ed above 270 at the flywheel.
It is expensive but effective.

jonny.
So (cheaters aside) Jonny weggie is leading the way with his MegaSkirt special at 255.

That's a very healthy 4.0 litre RV8 you have there Jonny.

But what fuel is she drinking?

If she's on the rusty nails that's worth an extra 8hp and gives you a disqualification.

But I expect knowing my thrifty kilt wearing mates it's sipping red diesel and also giving 37.4 mpg.

Come on the Jocks!!!!!

How many times Wedgies, NO BLOW JOBS.

This is a normally aspirated 4.0 litre post..... period.

Good figures though Adam, and he dances like John Travolta wink

Well John Travolta on acid... on an ice rink..... with a newly fitted artificial hip

Only kiddin Adam, it's just Chimp talk mate... loved your moves @ BBWF.

Just sold a 420 - J E eng build sheet stated 293bhp @ 6500 rpm

That 420 was defo faster than all my three chims including the 500HC.

Not willy waving, the new owner has all the documentation smile

You never said No Blowers in the title ;^) Yes it's equivalent to around 5.7l normally aspirated.

The 400SX did used to dance rather a lot on the original tyres when I bought it, but with 9J's and 245 rubber on the rear now, it puts the power down quite nicely.

Its not got a wedge body around it but a standard 4.0l apart from a decat y piece
http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&amp...

I have had it a couple of years and put it on the rollers as the indy who looks after it was very positive about how well it went. I thought that this was something he might say to take the sting out of some of the bills, but the bloke at the RR was complimentary about it as well.

Have added a smooth bore induction thing and sorted a small ht problem. Must take it back down to the rolling road

Alan, honestly, I ask you????????????????

When did 4.2 litres become 4 ?

But lets face it thats a monster figure for an RV8.

If 4.2 = 293 that's 70hp per litre & would indicate 280hp is possible with a 4.0 litre.

Problem is it aint a 4.0 litre mate, its a 4.2!

Disqualified redcard

PS: Willy waving is what this post is all about, so come on Wedgies get your thang out!

So far it's the Haggis munchers in the lead with a 255 incher yes

OK Wedgies, first off I have to say you have been (mostly) very honest & fair.

Cheddar has tried to sneak his heavy breathing supercharged monster in under the radar but I shot his whistling dairylea arsh out of the sky.

So far we have a 245bhp @ flywheel on Morrisons 95 RON fuel which to be fair is not too shabby from B@man.

But the engine is ex Chimp pre-serp, not sure how that makes you Wedgies feel?

It sure as hell makes me laugh like a drain laugh

I am genuinely surprised actually, I'm sure there must me a 4.0 litre Wedge out there somewhere with over 245?

But so far it's not looking too good for the Wedgies weeping

Come on boys is a Wedge with a hairdressers engine the best you got?
Hang on title says 3.9 / 4.0 L wedge, not 3.9 / 4.0 Wedge ENGINE ??

Off T' feed me whippet and then have t' pint of decent beer....

Off topic,

My 2.8 wedge has a miserly 262 at the flywheel, but has fantastic torque, with a great curve (well more of a line really).

Wrong engine, wrong capacity, & a Turbo! (Bloody great figures though thumbup)

Whats next? A Cerbera 4.5 AJP with 440?

Once again, this post is for NA 4.0 litre Rover V8's only please, however Megasquirt & mapped sparks are permitted.

Are we all done at 255?

One last chance before I move the topic over to the cage to see what the best 4.0 litre Chimp is shuvin out.

Come on, Wedge pride is at stake here!
