And finally, for tonight, are a couple of shots from the 1986 Motor Show at the NEC.

Oliver.
Great photos Oliver and they bring back many memories. I think that this is me talking with PRW on the stand. I think that I still have that suit although I doubt that it will fit me now!! I think that the only item from the '420 Sports Saloon' to make it onto any road car was the front end as you mentioned. The car was shown with the passenger door missing because the factory couldn't be bothered to produce a door and, as usual, the car was being fettled the night before the show!!
Happy days indeed! Best regards to all, Tony

Hi Tony, indeed I think that is you chatting to PRW (and inhaling plenty of Marlboro smoke, how times have changed), I hadn't realised before.
Bet you didn't expect to find me on the Wedge forum, they actually seem OK even if they do like odd pointy cars!

A couple more, taken at Motor-Ex '88 at Blackpool Airport in May of that year. Not sure what spec the Rover engine in the chassis was, but if anyone is rebuilding one at the moment that's what you need to aim for. The black 390SE was one of the first, possibly the first 390SE. Chris Schirle was driving it that day, and it looked pretty well used.

It definitely had a roof. Think you are right about it's reception, no one was keen on the looks
Well I quite like it getmecoat
Be nice to know if it was still around anywhere.

Also looks like Scimitar or AC pinched the basic idea though after it was ditched.

John is correct of course, it was a 200 FHC ordered with panelled in rear windows and thus called the Tasvan. I believe it was a way of getting it registered as a company vehicle and thus avoiding tax. As far as I know Mike still owns it, but I last time I saw it the rear panels had been replaced with proper windows.

Glen, you all seem very friendly so far, must try harder if I want to upset anyone! It was the then girlfriend of a mate of mine with a Taimar who came to Back Home in 2000, looked at all the cars and said "They're very nice, but I don't like those pointy ones!" The tag has stuck in our household.

What was the eventual registration of the 420 SEAC? Not Stainless' (Steve Charlesworth) old SEAC, that was a 450...though I thought it was an NEC show car too, or am I getting confused? Probably.

I lived in Fernhurst from '85-'87 literally 30 seconds walking distance to the TVR dealership. I would stare at the brand new Wedges for sale..like they were sweets in a sweetshop! I was only 14..but it's where my interest & passion for the Wedge was born. If only camera phones were available then to 'da yoof' like they are today.
My old SEAC was the 1988 motor show car,the 1986 420 did get sprayed black but don't know the reg

I seem to be running out of early shots of unusual/interesting cars, but here are a Swedish 4
20SEAC at Zolder in May 1991, and the only 350i I have ever seen with a towbar, at Cadwell Park in May 1993.

For the White Elephant fans out there, and for anyone who doesn't believe that there is a strong DNA linking all TVRs. Taken at the first test of the Tuscan racers, Oulton Park April 1989.

Knew I was getting confused, I blame it on early onset senility!

Should have checked the SEAC pages... doh

Since Chris has posted up some pictures of his turbo, here are a couple of shots of it in October 1991 when he
hadn't had it very long.

And for fans of "Spot the difference", here is the turbo bodied 350iFHC that was rescued last year taken in July 1990.
