I have been doing some fettling over the last couple of weekends, had to get new driving lights as old ones was knackered, took some old stickers off the engine bay and cleaned it up, moved fire extinguisher to roll bar still not sure about roll bar as I have hit my head and concerned that under heavy braking you could get knocked out ok on track with helmet on and full harness, plus what do you think about the looks of it better with or without, some photos taken

Have you tried pulling up the headrests...? As said I can make a padded headrest for the roll bar, I doubt it will be easy removing it and the car will feel a bit more flexible than before...Not sure thats something you want if you continue to want to track it....

Yes I have tried to pull headrests up but no joy, it went in so it must come out, I will track it and if Priscilla is anything to go by it will be ok and I am not out to go mad in it on track got the T350 for that wink

One other thing I noticed and driving me mad is the drivers side sun visor is a passenger side one fitted so the mirror is the wrong side so I can see my crotch and that's not a pretty sight plus with the light bouncing off it that is distracting, anyone got a spare drivers side sun visor

Ok great, I will see you next week and can take you to Sausage Meet or I can pop round after the meet and you can look at headrest also to see if you can make a pad for the roll bar as I am concerned about hitting my head just niggles me as I have hit my head once, if I kept it I would need to be happy and maybe spray it to match car, decisions decisions

Stunning wedge. Looks great. I agree regarding the roll bar, fine on track with harnesses and a helmet but a rear end shunt on the road it is far too close to your head for comfort.

Billy,

Working on my V8 tasmin 200, I'd like to know how your Gredge exaust runs? Also what kind of tubes used (diameter)?

An old 280 converted into a V8 of mine (RIP) ran the following, yours will have the straight top tubes right so could do similar, manifolds down the side then a single tube down each side, over the axle then out the back, think your engine has Chim / forward manifolds from memory? https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

It uses standard Wedge exhaust system, but you either need to bore out the manifold ports for 500 engine or get one made up, hope that makes sense

I used griff headers then a custom 2" tubes to a 400SE center box, on my early200/280 converted to a Rv8 this allowed me not to modify the chassis.
