Took the SEAC out for a blast yesterday.. had a guy comment 'nice car..etc' but he also said he thought the V8 badge on the rear looked very Halfords, and let the car down.
I've never considered this before, the badge was on it when I bought the car...

So, opinions.. Halfords, or non Halfords?

I'm afraid I'd agree with him. The style, font and finish are different to any other badge on there so it does look as though someone has bought it and stuck it on.

Having said that, it's your car and what you think matters, not some passerby or myself.

I'm afraid I agree. There are a few Chimaera out there with that on too and I've never liked them.

Manufacturers still often put them on the front wings though. Especially Mercedes. So you can see it at the lights? rolleyes

Honesty is what I'm after guys... I'm certainly leaning towards removal now.

True.. but now I'm aware of it..and it doesn't really match up with the oe badge and decals..

Question is, how to remove? I was thinking hairdryer to loosen the sticky pad, and used some cotton or string to slice behind it. Then I guess it's just rub and pick the sticky bits off?

Isn't it a typical rover v8 badge as found on the SD1's? A quality period piece :-).

No idea tbh.. but as badges go, it's pretty decent quality..not a £3 eBay job. Gotta go though. smile

why bother telling people what engine you have - just give it a little rev and see them smile and thumbs up

That style of V8 badge is a Rover logo. As on P6's and SD1's.

For example

Before attempting removal you may want to check it's not secured through the fiberglass with a bolt, or else you might be left with a couple of holes. Take a look behind the boot lining.

Lighter fluid and a hair dryer should work.
Lighter fluid is very good at removing the sticky stuff without doing any damage.

Just ease it off carefully with a flat screwdriver make sure you put a cloth against the paint and that will prevent any scratches, just use petrol to get the sticky stuff off works a treat been doing it for years
