Firstly, mods - if I've broken forum rules or etiquette, please delete this.

Secondly - does anyone know this Cerbera?

I've finally caved, and I need to own my childhood hero car. Trying to arrange a PX for my motor, and maybe I'll own a Cerb in a few weeks.

It's being sold up north (I'm in south Devon) so I can't just pop over.

Any info / history you guys can give me is greatly received!

Thanks all,

Chaz

Hi Chaz,

I can't answer your questions i'm afraid, but that looks like a lovely car, great colour!

If you do decide to take the plunge it would be great to have another Cerb in the area, we are a bit few and far between down here, where abouts are you in Devon? I'm in Plymouth, if you have any questions or need to compare with another Cerb then i'm happy to help.

Good luck,
Simon.

I don't know the car or seller so can't comment.

At that price I'd be looking at the Wheeler Dealers car at Fernhurst.

Thanks. I'm aware that PH has its own classifieds, and I'm totally ignorant to the rules. Cheers!

£22,000, 63K miles, 18 years old and no mention of the chassis

Was it for sale down in chichester? The description pops up all over websites, classic and sports car etc.
https://cazana.com/uk/car/T292FBL

Mot history shows its not got a current mot, expired in may, and it's done very few miles every year
https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

I think it's showing 9 owners

Don't know that particular car but for that money there's a less chancy alternate at James Agger if you can live with the colour combo:

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Engine rebuild, Nitrons and a TVR specialist dealer.

This is probably a better bet then?

With 'only' £1k in it, I've emailed them. What's it hurt to ask...

The history and the fact that it's being sold at a specialist has to be worth more than the increase in price over the other one?

James knows his stuff, I bought my Tuscan from him. I'd say the premium was worth it for the car spec alone, let alone the seller.

Comments re colour was because of the other one the OP highlighted which was very different - bright exterior, pale interior. Taste is a very personal thing.

That's mean and moody smile
Early f1 panel but different washer bottle placement. You can see the original hole.
Looks like it's had some work down, looks good.

Prices look strong currently. About time

Maybe it's best to buy from a specialist. It is gonna always going to cost a bit more, but for the peace of mind, I think it's worth it. These are not common, and I know with their bespoke engines, and spaceframe chassis, they have very specific idiosyncrasies that even a good mechanic who's not 'in the know' can easily miss.

I've sent them an email about the car, just gotta wait now...

As for colour, I like loud colours on fast cars. You can't buy one of these types of cars and enjoy anonymity as you can in a 3 year old silver or white 320D.

To be honest, I've wanted a purple one since I was a child, when I saw Clarkson race one down Bruntingthorpe in 1995 against a host of other exotica.

How much is a good respray...? Ha!

The beauty of TVR's is you can "remanufacture" them to whatever spec you want - colours, interior trim etc

If you plan to own it for a few years you can justify a few £k per year on average, especially as prices are rising, although general maintenance and what-if's aren't cheap on the Cerb and later T-cars so always useful to have a slush fund.

I've just had my Tuscan completely resprayed for £3,400 plus had the wheels done for a further £500. That's a standard metallic rather than an exotic flip/spectraflair but if you desire purple I'm sure that's doable for that price.

I know cool

I called him up, after sleeping on it for the weekend, and put a deposit down.

I can't collect it this weekend, but I should get over to him next weekend to pick it up.

Haven't driven it yet, but I am bloody excited!
