Window Runner

Well i knew my window runners were rusty but the drivers one fell apart last week and the window would not go up. Yes it was down and it started to rain.
Anyway i had already bought a replacement from a range rover circa 1980's model. Had to squeeze the runners together a bit as it was a bit loose but the window now dosent catch the roof when up.

Did the runner come with a rubber seal?

The Rangey ones come with no rubber insert.

I use an old bike inner tube cut up, and a bit of contact adhesive helps it in, but then eventually sets.

I did exactly the same.

No it didnt come with a seal but i bought a range rover seal with it. Couldnt be bothered for the price to mess about trying to get something to work. Seal cost £4.95 each and runners £12.95 each

I used silicone to fix the seal in place and the bottom of the window into the rubber seal, seems to have done the trick

Just used silicone with no rubber.
