Rover V8 EFI wont run pulling my hair out now!!!
Discussion
Wow - page three before someone mentioned the CTS!
Yes the injector click test is a really simple one and looking at this thread well worth performing.
To recap:
1. Ignition on.
2. Swiftly rotate throttle butterfly (under the bonnet)
3. Listen
Without the engine running it should be easy to hear a set of clicks.
If no clicks, then:
1. Check throttle pot operation (see http://www.vintagemodelairplane.com/pages/Rover_Te... )
2. Check the connections to the ECU
if still not working check power to the ECU, or swap out the ECU with a known good one.
The clicking tests out the drive circuits of the ECU, power, grounding, etc.

Is there no one that you could borrow off just to test it? They are regularly in fleabag for less than £80.If I get to ECU stage which I think I might anyone know were to get these tested repaired , I am near Ashford kent

and in my experience problems with the flapper system are typically multiple issues and not just one thing. You have to be methodical.
Fully agree with this. Wendy was running very poorly. Went through things methodically. Vintagemodelairplane site I linked to on page one was very useful and the time spent reading it was not wasted.I ended up checking all the 'circuits'. There were plenty of 'faults' but I didn't find one single cause. She finally started running 'right' when I checked the continuity of the ecu wiring. The continuity tests didn't reveal any issues.
One final thing was that I had a rolling road tune done and they also found some issues inside the flapper unit - which they dealt with.

Have seen the ones on eBay but you need to be 100% positive it's a good one or you will be going round in circles
And you need to suspect the fuelling first...... did it run on ez-start?
If it does, all the spark, dist, caps, leads, timing, valves, pistons etc are fine.
Else we may never know
