A curtain would be dangerous.... over that hole in the floor!

I'm not sure how that bucket isn't falling in, though. Maybe someone PVA'd it to the wall.

Hi,guess what - it's back- the old hesitation.i think it has to be heat related. It definately doesn't like hot weather and recently it's had a new exhaust -heat source - which runs close to feed/ return pipes as they head fwd to the front of the car just fwd of the pump/filter/accumulator.So I will try wrapping these in heat reflective material and see .On this car the return is tee'd back to the pump and to the tank , could the return fuel be getting too hot at the exhaust and causing problem at the pump. The new pump gets louder in the hot weather just before it hesitates, like its struggling to pull fuel through? Dave on this setup is the pump at the engine end sucking?

If it's electric why not move it to the tank end?

Pretty sure the return should go back to the tank...not the pump...mine was horrendously Tee'd and was causing cavitation in the pump due to air being sucked in..
This the 280i diagram..

Yes and for another reason - the warm fuel goes back to the tank to cool off before being recycled. This reduces the chances of vapour lock.

Hi,my system is as attached pic.So if I blank both ends of pipe 17 at the tee's and wrap feed/return pipes near exhaust -hopefully that will solve it! Dave

Mine was similar..Going by your drawing the returned fuel is not being cooled as Adam says..and there could be cavitation as only excess fuel is return...If the engine is using all the fed fuel then there will be no return fuel which would surely cause an intermittent air lock on the pump feed...a fuel pump won't last long if that keeps happening...

Make sure that if you cap off the tee..(No.17) that its a good seal..I would make a note and at some point replace the two sections of hose so there are no potential leak points!...

Hopefully this will remedy your running woes...
