Hi guys, I just acquired a 1985 280i that needs lots of help. This model has the large, chunky rubber bumpers (I'm not a fan of). Sorry for the ignorant question but......will the 350i/390 bumpers fit without too much finagling? I'm a cobbler at heart and not afraid of a challenge.
Thanks for your input.

I may mould my own but keeping one eye open for bumpers, front spoiler as well.

Also you might ask Black Cats who took over the TET molds (TVR body molds) in the UK. https://blackcatpanels.com/black-cat-panels/

Where in the States are you? Grady

I think you’ll find that the leading edge of the wheel arch has variation. Some early 350i cars had the fender arch molded onto the spoiler, later it was integrated with the nose. Neither are direct fit to the 280i.

But if you’re willing to mold your own - I doubt that small GRP job should stop you.

Welcome to wedges!

Hi All, I’m in NJ about 10 miles from the George wash bridge. I emailed blackcat’s with the same questions, no answer as of yet.
Thanks for your input.

P.s.—I would like to here more about that junk (later front bumper) you have laying around in getting in your way.😀

Hi Wedgehead,
I have both a 350i and a 280i and have purchased a 350i front bumper that is still in primer. I'm in Ohio. If you plan to make one you can use it as a mold for lay up.
the lower front spoiler which one of the guys commented on, thinking he was talking about the bumper is different than the 350 and such.

Thank you Tvrmk. The person above has offered to ship his bumpers in the future(my car is still in FL -no rush). I bought my 280 a little too quickly I think. Since, there has been a very nice one sold on eBay that needs a lot less love than mine(spilled milk). I bought mine so quickly that I didn’t even notice (embarrassing) that either the front lower spoiler is missing totally or ....
It has a center section only??

I’ll investigate once it reaches its new home.

Thank you for the mould offer.....I may reach out later.
