Sorry was being grumpy ...Wasn't the original enquiry about 450 SE's not SEAC ? so 10 as a number was misleading
Most sources say 35 450SE's were built.

What you never saw a thread go off topic on PH that's half of what this place fun.

I did say it was from memory and may be wrong..

Maybe we need some new blood. Get a wedge in a film then, prices will skyrocket and the forums will be flooded with eager young enthusiasts
We could lend a nice big wedge to one of those influancers these days, no matter how you look at it, a wedge is rare, which they can shout out as: "I'm driving this total RARE INSANE V8 BEAST to the shops today"... biggrin

Steve Heath's Wedge Bible says 35 450SEs made. I did ask a few years back if there was a register, and got a message for a guy which I responded to and never heard anything again..

Would be interesting to know for sure how many left the factory as 450SEs.

Was the 450SE engine to big valve spec and/or cross bolted?

Think that link was to my car ( Formerly Henry Harris ) which sold a couple of days ago. Replaced with a 1995 Griffith 5 litre.

Yes it was. I nearly bought that when Henry first put it up for sale.
The amount of work that had gone into it was amazing.

350 at last count but would not rev over 5K.

Currently changing the cam and checking all the components to find the issue.

Sure hope it will be on the road soon and making an appearance at BBWF.
Off topic and probably too late but have you considered that the valve timing may not be at its most optimum.

When I dialled in the camshaft on my 5.5 at the numbers I was told I had peak power at about 5.3 K. By retarding this by about 3 or 4°, (retarded from memory but might have been advanced as it was 3–4 years ago!) peak power increased to 5,750 rpm and I gained a few more hp.

You are dead right actually. The degree wheel I was using (Morosso) was marked up wrong.

Runs much better now but does need remapping.
