Hi

Been a while since I was last on here, probably still have more post's than some of the veterans..biggrin

Well thanks to Covid I lost my trim business in March 2020 after 9 years of training, then we had the ULEZ slapped on us in September last year, and so I could no longer afford to keep the car that I waited over 30 years to own...however during this time I have made some wonderful and colourful friends, never thought I would of met the man who designed our cars, and other well known TVR celebrities, who sadly are no longer with us.

Poppy has gone to the best home possible, a man who actually was responsible for building pretty much most of the TVR bodies...including Wedges, she has gone back home to her birth place, somewhere I always promised to take her....she gave me many years of happiness and always cheered me up whenever I was down, was therapy for mental well-being and also helped to raise a whopping 9k for needed charities over the years, yes a sad time but it also has had a positive effect on me, I will always be thankful to this journey for changing my life.

If funds allow I may be back but if not then thank you all for being you, thank you for the laughs & the tears ...I have some good memories to cherish now..smile
Viva la TVR...Viva la Wedge.

Ziga smile

Hi Zig, it is very sad to hear that you’re leaving as I know how much the Wedge meant to you. I know we’ve had our ups and downs and haven’t always seen eye to eye but I have always admired your enthusiasm for the Wedge group. You were always willing to help others in any way you could. Like you, I had also decided to leave the Wedge scene for a few years but I’m back again with another Wedge and given time I’m sure you will be too. I remember when I first met you at the Wedge festival the very first time I was there, and you invited me and my Mrs to the evening gathering that I didn’t even know existed. Anyway, all the best mate and I hope you’re back soon.

Thanks Tony...a lot of water has gone under many bridges, some have even eroded away with time... clashes of personalities always happens but the beauty of it is that we are all individuals who share a common interest...I have many fond memories of Ettington, the birthplace of the fest, which sadly is no longer a venue, I even missed this years fest after going solid for 12 years...if all goes well a 5 litre FHC running LPG will be the order of the day...Khan's ULEZ and the DVLA road tax can take a hike..here's to happy days...smile

Yes the sad end of an era. I under mine at the weekend doing some fettling and wondering how long it can last, petrol-wise...

I would be surprised if LPG could circumvent ULEZ because the petrol is retained, but please surprise me!

All the best Zig and best wishes for the future.

Hi Mark, this is sad news, it was a pleasure to meet you at BBWF in 2017 18 and 19. Fabulous fun weekends. When Geof the wedge was offloaded onto our drive, engine and gearbox out and many boxes contain parts, it was a daunting sight to say the least. The first thing I did was sign up to PH, with the helpful replies to my posts from yourself and other members made the rebuild alot easier.
Many thanks and all the best for the future.

Thanks for all the kind words, I am glad to of been able to help people, good knowledge is worth passing on!... I will definitely make next year's fest, not sure I will have been fortunate to purchase another, but we never know what is round the corner...quite fancy an early FHC with either a 5.0 griff engine or an LS..tax & ULEZ exempt smile

Cheers smile
