So this morning on my way to my workshop driving along just coming out of usk when I saw a white gt3 RSR left hooker and the driver was wearing a helmet.

The reg on the car was c2 wax. It was fully stripped with RSR aero center locking bbs wheel and cup exhaust.

We look after a gt3 2009 rs with rsr parts but that is a full track car so no number plates but the one I saw today was ready for the track just wired to see one on the road.

Cheers lionel.

I don't think that is a GT3 RSR (mostly because I don't think they ever made one in 1999) I would say that is a 996 with a 993 GT2 replica body kit on it and a random wing bolted on, probably used on track.

Reg comes back as a 911 GT3 S Cup. Most GT3 cup cars have a central exhaust, but google has thrown this one up, same car?

997s have the central exhaust. 996s like this have one each side.

Wise move if it has a full roll cage in it.

Cigar goes to that man, I would concur it is that car or one of the same.

Evening all,

Just thought I'd fill you guys in since you were all pretty interested in the car, and it happens to be mine. It started life as a Carrera Cup GB car, so it's a genuine Porsche Motorsport GmbH product hence the LHD, since then it's been converted to GT3R spec, which was the precursor to the RSR. The transformation from Cup to R comprises extensive use of Carbon body panels (everything bar the rear 3/4s is carbon) so weight is down to around 1100kgs, and that's why it looks like an RSR with all the meaty bodywork which sets it off nicely. The engine is now GT3R spec too which means a good bit more power than the cup. The GT3R had around 410hp running FIA restrictors but since this is no longer a race car they've been removed so power could be anywhere around 430hp. Finally it's now got a sprint gearbox running ratios so close they'd make tinned sardines feel lonely. As you can imagine the combination of 1100kgs, 430hp and sprint gearing makes for a fairly swift motor. The best thing about this car though is the fact that it's now road legal, which is pretty mad.

nono classifieds are the place for ads, not the forums.

Cheers Ross

Welcome to PH. That is a great car you have there. Do you live in South Wales or just passing through when spotted?

Sounds like a lot of fun. Do you track it?

Get yourself over to the Porsche forum as you would be a most welcome edition.

That's the plan, although I'm having a bit of trouble getting the thing under the 105dB noise limit at the moment, which is slightly ironic given it's intended role as a race car. It's just so chuffing loud.

It may be worth having a chat with Charlie at Prospeed in Cardiff. He knows his stuff and doesn't charge silly prices either.

I know Charlie, but I've got a good guy in Newport who knows his way around these cars, problem we've got is there's nothing really there to silence so we'll have to look at making a different rear silencer if it's still too loud.

Sorry guys been away for a while, I never Kiss and Tell with regards to recommendations, too much can go wrong! I'd rather just let people find out for themselves and make their own minds up. Otherwise it's on me if they're crap and I've bigged them up. That said I did big up the Specialist cars of Malton boys, so I hope that doesn't come back to bite me...
