Hi
Please can anyone recommend cheap tyre garage in Aberdare/Pontypridd area which take good care of your alloys when fitting tyres?

I'm happy to travel within reason and don't mind paying little extra per tyre for good service

My Alloys are 19inch

Thank you

Do you want tyres supplied and fitted or just fitted?

Try an alloy wheel refurb place they will take care, but possibly not the cheapest place to get tyres but then I have never tried.

You can get tyres online easy enough and cheaper then going into a dealership. I used the tyre group last time.

http://www.thetyregroup.co.uk

Had the tyres delivered to the local garage and fitted. Saved £140 for all 4 over the garage price direct!

Or try camskill, they will deliver to home.

Sorry
I wanted buy new tyres and fitted from garage.

I done some looking at prices and there's not much difference in buying online and buying them local and fitted - for continentals I need.

More concerned about damage to wheel when changing - would rather go to alloy friendly garage than hassle of getting them repaired if damaged by careless garage.

I always used valley tyres in pontypridd and never had any issues. Any half decent fitter should be able to take care of an alloy.
Alternatively order from blackcircles and get them fitted locally at ATS in treforest which i did recently.

A+A tyres in Aberdare. Have a chat with Cooky. I've had loads of tyres changed at the garage, never had any damage. Used to have a z4 with 18", so did have low profile tyres fitted there.

Im friends with Cooky and most of the boys there and have used A&A Tyres for donkeys.

They changed both rear tyres on my C63 and marked both in the process before Christmas. One wheel was brand spanking new, replaced under warranty the day before (and from this i was told to change the tyres hence it went to A&A the next day).

i Paid £400 forhe two tyres then noticed the marks as soon as i left, so 15mins later i was straight back. The owner point blank fobbed me off to my face and claimed he couldn't work out how the marks got there. It was black and white in front of him, iffing and arring. Possibly the worst customer service i have ever received considering my family has been a loyal customer for premium rubber, MOTs and servicing from that garage for 12+ years easily. He handled it extremely poor and was fully aware i wouldn't be able to prove him wrong.. I trust all the boys there still and i accept mistakes happen, i wasnt even looking for any money back.. an apology would have been nice though. I kicked off because the car is still under warranty hence how i had one wheel changed due to corrosion, now they have man made marks on there that have broke the lacquer they will not honor the warranty. I Would not go back there in a million years and instead would rather travel 15 miles + to somewhere more trustworthy instead regardless of price.

Sardis road in Ponty have always been by far the cheapest for tyres in the valleys - never seem to have marked the wheels on mine in the passed. Being honest, my crap experience from A&A will result in me ordering tyres from Sardis and simply taking them to a Merc dealer everytime for fitting as its knocked my trust. Not say Mercedes wont mark them, but they certainly didnt when they took both wheels off a day before i went to A&A.

I used Kwik Fit Mobile (they come to your house or place of work) a few months ago. Mainly because they were the cheapest at the time for new tyres including fitting and balancing. I also thought this had the added benefit of me being able to keep a close eye on what the tyre fitter was doing, rather than being told to go in a waiting room like you do in most tyre fitting places.

Great experience, pleasant chap, very careful, had a good chat and a cuppa - would recommend.

He fitted 2 x 265/35ZR20 - so pretty wide and low profile tyres, zero damage.
