Car Clubs & Bikers Stay Off Our Roads

amongst some pretty crass ste posted today, I think you win.
For pointing out the truth? The op does not own the roads and has no personal right or authority to say who should or shouldn’t be using them or for what purpose. It would also seem logical. That the only way the op would know about car clubs driving and stopping for coffee and chats. Is if they themselves are out and about driving also. Or illegal use of a drone.

In 2018 police forces in Wales recorded 4,222 road accidents involving personal injury
In recent years the number of accidents resulting in serious injury or fatalities has been relatively stable, with the overall decline in accidents accounted for by a continued fall in ‘slight’ injury accidents.
Within the 5,768 casualties:
108 people were killed, 7 more (6.9% higher) than in 2017
1,029 people were seriously injured
4,631 people were slightly injured
They call bikers "Donor's " here in South Wales...... Why should they go out to play and take up a valuable bed.
Common sense needs to prevail - "Stay at home"
Those numbers are small compared to accidents in the home:In recent years the number of accidents resulting in serious injury or fatalities has been relatively stable, with the overall decline in accidents accounted for by a continued fall in ‘slight’ injury accidents.

More accidents happen at home than anywhere else
Every year there are approximately 6,000 deaths as the result of a home accident
More than two million children under the age of 15 experience accidents in and around the home every year, for which they are taken to accident and emergency units
Children under the age of five and people over 65 (particularly those over 75) are most likely to have an accident at home
Over 76,000 children under the age of 14 are admitted for treatment of which over 40% are under 5 years of age

That argument in nonsense in the context of this discussion. For a start, how many under 5s and under 15s take to the roads?https://www.rospa.com/Home-Safety/Advice/General/F...

I am far more likely to be injured at home given my complete lack of DIY skills, or may even be strangled by my wife for just being in the house at the moment. However (accidents etc aside), if I go for a drive, with a full tank, take my own food and drink, and our normally reserved for camping, portable toilet with me..so I dont actually have to leave the car, then allthough it's not one of the reasons for "going out" I really dont see how I am increasing the risk of anyone catching this dreadful thing. I should add that I am not planning to do that, and as soon as it stops raining all of my cars will be wired up to trickle chargers. My wife's car will be used to buy and take food to her vulnerable mum twice a week who cannot leave home at all. Bonus is we can also stock up on booze whilst shopping for MIL
Also stops things like this happening, I am not sure if any attended, but emergency services are stretched right now and they have better things to do than deal with people like this out Skenfrith way, I know we are all driving gods but you know sometimes st just goes wrong, not my picture.
I am assuming the chap stood there is the one who had the off, but just for a moment think of how badly this could have gone at this moment in time, and with the roads quiet, bikers take more risks and could be less likely to be seen if they go straight on into a hedge, just a bit of sensibility.

I did wonder if they’d put up any kind of blocks in South Wales. I expect a lot of walkers using the lay-by there the last few days. My road seems a lot more quiet. A few bikers in groups have shot by though.
