When did these go up? Where on North road exactly?

Have you seen the one outside Rhydypenau primary school? Typical council cock-up. They put a speed camera up one week and then plant new trees in front of it the next - bunch of morons

Ah, new ploy then. Move em around. That won't stop people doing 30 past where they used to be.

Also why was the 50mph in place approaching the tunnels from Culverhouse? Apeared for a while then disapeared?

In Rhiwbina, they put up two new cameras but then took one away after around a month?! Go figure?

Going into cardiff: one by the side of Nazareth House- just past the old Comet site.

Coming out of Cardiff: one by the side of the arts college then another one opposite the funeral home 100yds away from the first one I mentioned.

They went up yesterday.

N.B. The outward bound one opp. the funeral home DOESN'T have lines on the road so watch out!

The residents complained aparently and it was removed.

Something about they didnt want the flashes going off all night keeping them awake!

could be a ploy there to get them removed,

pretend to be a resident, and complain about the constant flashing. might get a few removed

I've seen the one with the tree in front of it.. I think that's the way to go.

We plant trees in front of every gatso and then let the lentil munchers fight with the camera partnerships! Brill!!

No, no, no! You need something like:

"eco-friendly motorists plant trees to hide visual scarring of speed cameras and reduce impact of airline pollution"

There... that's better! Who's going to ring the Echo?

Speed cameras dont bother me at all. I have had a new set of numberplated made up with Steff's registration on it.

Simply stick them on with a bit of velcro and speed to your hearts desire

The cameras on North Road are, in fairness, justifiable. The one outside the Welsh College of Music & Drama was where that police officer was killed (although not to do with speeding?)and the ones by Nazareth House are, I hate to say, perfectly reasonable with an orphanage, an ambulance station, a major student crossing area and a Death Wish zebra crossing all along that short stretch.

The one in Rhiwbina is a mystery though..

I believe Eucalyptus trees grow even faster than Leylandii conifers although they are a little more transparent. Still, a few Koalas should block the view.

As of last night it has been moved 100 yards down the road (Pentwyn diretion, on the corner of Betwys-y-Coed Rd) so be careful. I can't believe they moved the camera - I would have bet a grand that they'd cut the tree down first

Justifiable!!!!

1.The college incident was when a copper ran in front of a car chasing a pikey thief.. I saw it... the driver didn't stand a chance... nothing to do with speed!
2.The orphange doesn't even have an exit on that road so unless they can scale a 20 foot wall they're safe.
3. If you hit an ambulance at least you'll get treated in a reasonable time.
4. Students are supposed to be clever enough to cross the road... if they aren't... well let's just call it natural selection!

You are starting to believe the lies spouted by the government and scamera partnership. Wake up! Remember WE don't drive down the pavments mowing people down... THEY jump in front of us! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!!!

SORRY HAVING A BAD DAY!

I didn't say it was right. I said it was technically justifiable. Actually, I've been nailed along that stretch by the van and so has my fiancee. Still, great camaera shot.

Besides, the other day, I was going down that road and there were students sitting in the road protesting they didn't get enough beer money, ten people in black and white striped clothing waiting to use the zebra crossing, the orphanage was having it's annual pole vaulting contest over the wall into the car park opposite whilst the nuns were hang-gliding from the windows and the ambulances were all leaving at the same time to attend an emergency student overdose of information in the library. An annual hedgehog migration from Coopers Field to Cathays was also in progress. Then there was a TVR broken down on the main TVR Migration route.

Not true of course but .... possible....
