Late Summer Run #5 30th September
Discussion
Cheers all, especially mark for a cracking afternoon route.
Me and the lil red Alfa came across the Cambridge run just outside Brandon............intended to meet at the lunch stop, as I couldn't do the morning run.
A few slow golfs and pickup trucks, but otherwise a good run, bottomed out a few times and I swear I got air once in the lil red Alfa.
When we came through stowlangtoft I smelt something funny, looked down to see smoke coming out of the steering column ! Turned the lights off, no more smoke. The old girl has no headlight relay, all the juice goes through the column switch. Bit of a worrying moment........thought about reaching for the fire extinguisher in the glove box.
Felt very intimidating having the following up my chuff for some time
Porsche turbo
Lamborghini
Meaty m3
The 2 TVRs in front sounded awesome, pop, crackle, bang, braaaaaaap.
Defiantly need to up rate the juniors brakes, it could always do with some more oooomph, or less weight, but I think the old girl did quite well today.
Cheers all
Next time need to ensure the missus and toddler aren't at the end, so I can catch up more and talk petrol.

Everyone I'm sorry I disappeared from the Norwich run I experienced some serious alternator failure. Fixed it on the side of a lane glad I had tools with me! Oh well hope everyone gets a good run today. Hope there is such a good turn out at the next meet
Sorry not to see you at lunch. Was your oil temp ok?!!Thanks Mark for the routes and the orgaisation. Really enjoyed our day out, and my Mrs might well come with me again. She enjoyed navigating, and was word perfect. Apologies to my afternoon run friends for losing them after Thetford (indecision on my part) and for the overshoot in Dalham. I mis-heard an instruction, which is ironic as it is my wife who is the deaf one!
FWIW, I thought the Cambridge morning run was the better of the two - more fast flowing country roads, fewer speed limits. Try as I might, I couldn't shake off that white M3!!

Excellent job Mark, great day out. Will defo be on the next run!
Had a great morning run from Cambridge . . . . until 5minutes down the road from High Lodge when my clutch cable snapped. (it had been dragging on the floor for 40mile)
Luckily had a toolbag and some spare cable. 20minutes later all back up and running. Phew!!! But this led to me having to get fuel before the next leg and missing the last group leaving, so we ended up making our own way to Lanwades Park following the route guide Mark put together.
Overall I had a great day, some nice roads and even nicer machinery, just a shame I couldn't enjoy and join in on the soundtrack with the rest of you. Next Time!!!

Nope, he was a persistent SOB wasn't he? Great lead out - thank guys; thanks of course to Mark for organising, and good to meet some fellow PH'ers. Looking forward to the next one.
Anthony - I have a few bits of video footage of your TVR kicking up stones into the front of my car. PM me your email addy if you would like one or two snippets.
Cheers
Matt
