Main hoon date 31st October (back up date 7th November if weather awful)

Greetings fellow PHers, it seems that The Imperial War Museum at Duxford is the favoured destination for our end of season hoon so I have prepared some meeting points and times. These have been made for all those that wish to be part of a "convoy" type hoon but you can of course make your own way to Duxford if these meeting points are too far off your favoured route . You may also want to make your own local meeting points with fellow local PHers.

Times given should be viewed as latest departure time with arrival at the meeting point before this.

In time order:

Satellite meeting point Essex/Suffolk/Norfolk - Depart 10:30hrs.
Tescos at Stowmarket - the store will be found on your right approx 1/4 mile south of the A14west on the A1120 Stowmarket road. The store will be found on the right. Postcode IP14 5BE for www.multimap.com

Satellite meeting point Lincolnshire/West Norfolk/Cambridgeshire - Depart 11:00hrs.
Shell service stop at Fenstanton 4 miles south of Huntingdon(shortly after passing turn off for Hemingford Grey) A14south. Also has Travelodge and Little Chef. Postcode PE18 9LP (checked) not recognised so use Fenstanton for www.multimap.com

Main meeting point - depart 11:30hrs.
Come off A14 at Junction 33 (A10/A1309 Cambridge south and A10 Ely/Kings Lynn north) and take turn off for Cambridge. Immediately get into left lane and after approx 250 metres, turn left into Cowley Road into the Science Park at these traffic lights. Within 75 metres, turn left into Innovation Park area - see pic below.

This long cul-de-sac pictured below is our meeting point so park up here. Postcode CB4 0WS for www.multimap.com

If you wish, you can miss the Satellite meeting points and just join in at the main meeting point or as suggested, meet at Duxford at approx 12:00hrs.

I will post another thread shortly before the actual day advising on weather forcast and if favourable (eg dry!!)will advise "Phers are go!!" - erm or not as the case may be!!

Hope you`ll all be able to make it - looks like 15-20 cars at present from my email and thread responses.

Cheers all

Edited to add pics

Stowmarket is good for Suffolk folk but if there are several PHers coming up the A12 from Essex, I'd suggest a 'pre-rendezvous' at Toys R Us, on the A12/A14 junction. That way you get more convoy driving in
Please let me know if you want to do this as well, and I'll see you there.

I will be in a single convoy car at the moment, (might get a Griff to come along if appropriate weekend pass can be stamped by other half) to Duxford from the west

If weather is good on the 31st, can't do 7th as it's BT&P (Beer, Tequila & Port) evening.

FWD - "single convoy car"

Griffophenia - not sure about space by the filling station but perhaps we can "borrow" part of the Travelodge car park in the same stop. We will still be coming through Huntingdon Phil so just let me know about the water meadow car park

Bliarout - PHers are PHers, even if they bring the kids (and why not indeed?! PHers, the next generation ) and come in a Nissan rather than a Porsche!

Good man Simon. Hopefully you`ll have that clutch re-fitted and the sun shines on us! The only "Yellow Peril" I know is Pauline the TVRCC RO and her Cerbera! You haven`t gone and bought a decent make have you?

Seems like we have our own "lake district" down here!

OK Phil, hopefully you`ll be able to make it - keep an eye on here in case we go to the second date due to bad weather

Seeing as Duxford is only a couple of miles down the road it would be rude not to trundle along.

Seeing as Guildford is only 85.6 miles down the road it would be rude not to blast up the M25 and M11.

Hope to see you there.

Anyone else on/near the M25 going north from Kent/Surrey?

Regards Phil.

I shall be there. Weather still looks promising as well.

Duxford is less than 1/2 hr away and it's been years since I have been inside.

Meet there at 12. Is that right?
