Has anyone noticed while on the new Northern Distributor Road, every so often a steel wire rope bridge thing. It's supported on each side of the road by two big wooden poles. Anyone know what there for.confused

Proved ineffective when used on the A11 Thetford stretch but nevertheless still added to the NDR at vast cost!

Be interested in links to any data you have seen on effectivity or non effectivity

Just Google "bat bridges A11" and you'll be spoiled for choice...

I have - Nowhere is there a study where bat deaths on the A11 have been counted or collated pre-dualing and post dualing

What I find is a load of media content/conclusions and no real "actual" data

For what it's worth I think they were a shocking waste of money but traveling the road every day I see roe deer, muntjack, badgers, foxes, squirrels, rats and pheasants all killed but I've yet to see a bat carcass
