Charitable folk that they are, Suffolk plod is out in force to catch people as they emerge blinking into the sunshine.

Saw at least 3 speed traps on the A14 (vans and cars) on Tuesday and another today (hairdryer) so be careful.

By contrast you can drive halfway across Canada and not see a single police car. Amazing!

Thanks for the heads up.

ETA, no more than usual activity on the A12, at least on the Essex side around Colchester.

Seen 2 on the A137 through Brantham over the last week. Obviously on a crackdown

shame they're not trying to nab people going past my house frown Sounded like someone went past last night at mental speed

To be honest they've been out in force all throughout lockdown around here. The quieter roads have led to more speeding and they have capitalised on it.

It's a sad way to earn a living isn't it. I'm sure when they joined the police force they wanted to be a detective, fight crime etc. And there they are stuck in a van all day, or hiding in a hedge.

Not just the minor roads, the blighters were on the side of the A14 near Kentford on Tuesday.
Inside lane full of HGV’s, outside lane temptingly empty.

I've seen a traffic car (BMW Estate) sat on seven hills r/b twice earlier this week, and also the X5 on the slip road from Trimley to the A14. Unmarked black BMW had pulled a Polo on Woodbridge Road near to the A12 as well.

Three nice BMW's, though.

I would normally agree but we have had some tts driving at ridiculous speeds through the village. One dick in an Audi (what else?) has repeatedly been doing at least twice the speed limit. Not been through for a few days so hopefully he ended up in a ditch somewhere ...

It's a question of scale. 124 in a 40, fair enough. But 35 in a 30 in the country is silly, and I think Her Majesty's Finest, if asked out of uniform, would agree.

Speeding tax revenue must be way down, bean counters have targets.

Also out in Lakenheath even the Speedwatch team and parish council are annoyed by the 30 mile limit running at least 3/4 mile out of the village since planning determined they were going to build a school on that stretch. Certainly a limit where the school is but for Heaven's sake, wait until you've at least started building it...

I've cycled along that road many times, plenty of drivers mistake it for the runway....!
