Good morning everyone,

I hope you've all been keeping fine and well over the winter.
My apologies for radio-silence, however I can now inform you all of what is happening in the 2022 season.

Due to personal reasons (please don't worry, everyone here is physically fine!), I am very sorry to announce that I will be stepping back from PHEA duties this year.

I have had a few offers from some seasoned PHEA veterans to assist "on the ground" for events this year, and for this I am eternally grateful, so despite my stepping back you will all be able to enjoy a year of Events smile

I have listed below Events I have either already booked a slot for PHEA, or Events which were to be advertised to you all this year, and so if you're on the email list, you will be receiving a couple notifications from me smile

PHEA Events 2022

24th April - Norfolk Cars & Coffee (The Three Horseshoes, Briston - MAP LINK HERE)
22nd May - Norfolk Cars & Coffee (The Old Ram, Tivetshall St Mary - MAP LINK HERE)

23rd October - Snetterton Modified Live: MSV WEBSITE HERE

Simpo Two has kindly stepped forward to be the PHer on the ground for East Anglian Railway Museum Transport Extravaganza;
Mrs Muttleysnoop has also kindly offered to be the PH contact and face for both Helmingham and Glemham.

I haven't made a club booking for Kimbolton or the Snetterton Time Attack, but I've popped them down so you know dates of the Events in case you'd like to head along as an individual this time around smile

Also, look out for PHer Al 991 at the Sandringham Pageant of Motoring, and of course PHer hoodedreaper is the superb organiser, and fearless leader of Norfolk Cars & Coffee - Please find the full details for all these meets on the Norfolk Cars & Coffee Facebook Page HERE

One or two extra bits may get added here, so watch this space!

It has been an absolute pleasure to spearhead the local PH contingent over the years, but it really is of all you who are there to support the club which makes this fine group what it is and so very enjoyable!

I thank each and everyone one of you for all of your support: Thank You!

Please take care, and I hope to see you all again before too long smile

Stay safe and well.

All the best,
Darren

Great post Darren, and you richly deserve a holiday - you've run PHEA almost single-handed for over 10 years, and it's easy for people to forget how much time and effort is needed to manage things to that standard. We shall now drink beer and sing 'For he's a jolly good fellow' beer

And so 2022 has events to go to, and there are many people here who'd like to go to them. The events just need somebody to liaise with the relevant organisers and pull entries together if not already taken.

Hopefully between us we can keep PHEA running as usual, just with more people involved. As far as the PH identity goes, we may have to forgo banners at most shows as it's probably too tricky to shuffle them around, but for shows at least, we can go back to the original A4 windscreen info.

Please give Darren your support by considering if you can take an event on from the list above, and replying here or dropping me a PM. Thank you smile

Happy to coordinate the organisation of the annual Snetterton trackday (although that's not in the above list...). Am I correct in my understanding the trackday was organised with the help of other PH member/s with connections to the circuit?

Fast Eddie is the one to contact as he was involved in our wonderful day at Snetts.

Just have to say a big Thank You Darren for all the events and shows etc you have sorted over the many years.
Always had fun, not so much on the wet days and know the amount of time you must have put in to keep all things good for us all and PHEA.

Cheers Darren

Ok, great. Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully it can proceed as usual this year and it was just an omission in the events list.

The Heveningham Concours is back this year.

https://heveninghamconcours.com/

I went along in 2019. Cars, hill climb (of sorts) and flying displays by WW2 fighter aircraft.

I enjoyed it, though I couldn't get close to the hill climb as it was mobbed.

Heveringham is an amazing pile owned by John Hunt who is Foxton's owner too. I live close by in a sliiiggghhhttlllyyy smaller place. He supports a lot of local charities and worthy causes with these events.

So, if you buy a ticket I get to benefit too! hehe

Does anyone know what was going on on the 9th April? Coming back through Chelmondiston/Pinmill, there was no end of great cars cars heading away from Ipswich about 11am. I'm sure I remember the same thing happening last year and again, couldn't find out what or where it was.

Cheers.

Hope to try and make it to few events this year after a looong time away. Think it may have been as far back as the first couple of years of Darrens tender of lord Admiral of the East Anglian fleet.

Hopefully see some of you around.......... maybe not Trish winkwinkwinkrofl

Good luck Darren and thanks, I'm sure you won't be able to stay away for too long.

Having just completed the EARM show yesterday, I was looking ahead to the others...

Mrs Mutleysnoop has kindly picked up Helmingham and Glemham, but is anyone able to attend/coordinate the others, namely:

2nd June (Thursday) - Platinum Jubilee Car Show, Steeple Bumpstead

5th June - Sandringham Pageant of Motoring

10th July - Kimbolton
