Was't the MX5 the engine that had problems with the spark plug threads? Spat the plug out and the common repair was to glue the plug in there perminantly?

I think *an* MX5 did it once on Top Gear. Have never heard of it ever happening in the real world though, probably some gimp just stripped the thread on that one.

Plug leads do seem to wear out faster than on some cars but as they're cheap and a 30 second job to change nobody gets too worried.

As I don't spy any on trademe for confirmation, has anyone seen or brought one of these into NZ ?

Any reasons they might not be able to, emmissions, frontals, etc etc ??

Emotive, sans Clarkson, statements about handling etc from ex owners/passengers welcome!
Nek minit..

That is just lovely, lovely, lovely..... and I'm not really a Porsche fan.

Also, given the context, how pathetically small do those brakes look?!? Back in their day they were considered huge... these days a GT3RS brakes would be twice that size!

It is lovely and so is this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/porsche/...

I've been in one (and a few 911's if you didn't guess already) and it was eye watering. Very raw, Cup carish. Many are touting it to be of collector status in years to come. There's another listed at $135k

I'd SERIOUSLY love a 997 GT3 RS, in green since there's already an orange one in Dunedin (Martin Dippie's one that he races in Targa etc - it blasted past me at full noise when i was on a bike ride one day biggrin).

It just seems like the best looking, best performing Porsche that would suit me. Driven one quite a bit and loved it (in Forza 3 on the Xox 360). wink

C'mon Lotto!

I'd settle with a 6 but needs to be a roadster. I know of one that the owner is in ill health and his friends are helping to get it roadworthy so he can get to drive it, albeit a small drive around a car park probably. He has more mutual friends that will likely acquire the car before my name gets on the list!

Meantime I should get something more reliable and less of a money pit http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=45...

A friend owned one of and sold it 4 years ago with only 13,000km on it for the same $25,000.

Took him six months to shift it too.
