As the forecast is for good weather this weekend thinking of heading to the golden beaches of Southend.

I have warned by OH that it'll be rammed and will have to be there early to get a spot. We are thinking of getting there by about 8, breakfast in the Arches and then on the beach by about 9. Will this be early enough?

We are hoping to park on the front around the Toulouse area. I know there are meters there but does anybody know how much it costs to park there all day? Must be around £10? Do they take notes or cards or will I need to get a bag of coins?

Thanks.

If you don't mind a short walk you can park for free in most roads to the north side of the C2C railway thumbup

They have an app you can use for the car parks/meters in the area, should be on the sign posts wherever you park

Avoid Southend; Chalkwell/Leigh or the beaches past Southend are far preferable. Unless you enjoy whale spotting (the land based variety) biggrin
