Something like this could be a lot of fun for a starting point for a first thought for a route. Should work well, especially if starting early....working our way to breakfast via a tunnel? Roads should prove a good mix for all? (obviously with re-group/pitstop points) - please feel free to amend if you think i've gone a bit off

Possible route amendments?https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/51.3313333,0.149...
https://goo.gl/maps/7V74tyaHdrD2 - via Ide Hill instead of Westerham/Crockham Hill
https://goo.gl/maps/X2QaBFQzcdG2 - an additional tunnel, avoids Ditchling/Clayton, includes hill climb of Ditchling Beacon
If time allows and weather is kind maybe a further short detour for a photo op at Devil's Dyke? - https://goo.gl/maps/faJPihwBHt52.

To float a date - How does Saturday 24th/Sunday 25th February work? - I presume earlyish to avoid dawdlers - could even finish for breakfast?
Early start + breakfast on 25th works for me. m4tti said:
The Dungeness-berg ring is excellent as you can see a long way ahead... plus there’s a pub with a big car park in the shadows of a nuclear power station. What’s not to like
Agreed Looking forward to the run on the 25th. Been in Kent for nearly six years so it's about time I find some decent driving roads!Edit: I've had to withdraw my name already with another commitment popping up Will hopefully be able to make another run in the not too distant future.

I'm interested.
Its been about 8 years since I last went on a PH Kent run, and I usually have something moderately capable to rock up in.
if you've not done a run over the last 8 years and wondering why this sort of thread doesn't come up that often anymore read a little about 'joint venture' which seems to have been bought in while you were asleep. Its been about 8 years since I last went on a PH Kent run, and I usually have something moderately capable to rock up in.

I’m sure you were on the last one I attended.

Is that why you stopped?

Yep, every time I've been on one there has been mainly sensible spirited driving but there's always one who makes overtakes to keep up because they feel pressured and those overtakes are questionable for spirited driving, and to normal drivers look dangerous.I’m sure you were on the last one I attended.
To get lumped in with those dubious decisions because I am in the same convoy was unacceptable to me. Certainly to have mrs micra whos never done more than 30mph in her entire life, and never overtaken anything, but is a pillar of the community, stand up in court and say 'racing' would be devastating. Her opinion would be bolstered by the general perception of fast cars organising a get together on a forum like this.
Nowadays, unfortunately, I hoon with immediate trusted friends only. Reading some reports of joint venture makes for scary reading.

This was why, after going to two PH Kent/Surrey meets I stopped. There was always someone who felt they had to do 100mph past the grasshopper, and there was a high likelihood of said idiots killing another road user or a spectator. Having said that I organised a drive down to Goodwood for some TVR folk, we didn’t really go over 80mph on the motorway (maybe 83) and just did the speed limit across the South Downs way. You didn’t really want to do much more.
So yes, this is what puts me off these aswell, add to that you always have the chance of the “racing driver” of the pack pranging into you.

That's commitment! Pesky Sunday Service duties beckon, although if there's enough of the team going then I may still be able to join. If not I'll definitely be up for a run out in the future, I'm just outside of Tonbridge so that meeting point is easily accessible for an early start. These runs are huge fun.

Not done one of these before. How do you get the route info and how do you navigate the route on the day?
I've put one together for 25th Feb: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...For obvious reasons I'll be circulating the route by e-mail/text/whatsapp less than a week before - this should stop both unwanted attendees and any vans pitching up along the route (not unheard of for a previously publicised route).
The e-mail/text/whatsapp will allow you to open a google map of the route and follow it as you would a satnav (if you select the export route to phone option on google as I will), this stops the follow pressure leading to dodgy overtakes. There will be a couple of re-group points along the loop, one general meet up point about 80 mins in and another for breakfast. As the last leg loops back to the start via some more decent roads some people will understandably peel off home so there are no proper breaks here.
