Wow this is looking like quite the turnout. How is the road quality on the route? I'm running KW Clubsports and would prefer not to need new kidneys afterwards if possible...

Let's hope there is space in the car park!

Fingers crossed it'll be ok, else we'll have to look elsewhere.

I regularly drive the first 35 miles or so (planning to do so later this afternoon too) in my exige and they aren't too bad, the occasional rut etc but know where you're coming from.

Keep some space and you'll be able to avoid the majority. The roads are a complete mix but don't think I've included any really small/narrow roads, all should accommodate 2 way traffic without too much issue.

Sounds good. On my last trip to Kent the roads were so rough I couldn’t see straight and my front license plate fell off!

I’m keeping an eye on the weather if it’s looking good I’ll add to the list. There’s apparently a chance of snow next weekend.

Got my instructions. But the Spangly new engine in the Evo has a leak, so I’ll be in the spare family car. frown

Was waiting to see what the weather was like before sticking my name down, and now the forecast is in the reliable time frame it’s showing as an ice day yikes

Indeed, done a few of them in the Exige (on R888's!) but still enjoy it - can't push as much/until tyres are warm for obvious reasons - sure it'll all be ok though smile

ETA looking at a few other places on the route it's saying 1* so may be a little warmer than the headline suggests

I hope so! Don't think the TVR will be particularly happy about being driven on icy roads.

Being a risk averse kind of guy I’m going to sit this one out and wait for the next one. Cautious of minor routes.

It’s saying areas such as Horsham won’t be above 0 till mid day. I’m just going off the met office as there’s a weird weather set up at the moment with the stratospheric warming that’s occurred.

Monday and Tuesday where we are (sevenoaks) is showing snow yikes

Running an R8 and a Discovery? Us too. We should swap the sport cars for the big crates and still show up!

Could do, I'm happy to give it a go if others are?

Guess we could always call it off if it becomes/looks too bad and re-organise for a month or 2's time?

I leave the discovery to the wife. It’s a sport so a bit smaller than the Range Rover. Easier for her to drive about. I don’t really get on with it.

Prefer the Range Rover As the diesel V8 has more ooooomph.

The main problem with cold/icy/snowy weather is the discovery and Range Rover can handle it, but your at the mercy of some helmet in demonstrating his Ari Vatenen rallying skills in £50 fiesta/Cora’s etc ploughing into you while you mind your own business.

Agreed! In the snow flurry before Christmas we set out in the Disco to give our hounds a walk, but turned back after a couple of miles. The disco was faultless, but there were a few too many numpties out without a clue how to drive in the conditions and the last thing we wanted was to be side swiped.

I'm not on the list to join you guys this weekend, but have been following this thread. I would have thought most of the route was have been gritted. I had an early run out last Sunday, was -3 when leaving home & up to +1 when returning from Rye, Tenterden etc. There were a couple of icy patches, which were visible, as they were puddles prior to freezing. There's nothing better than an early morning run out with a few like-minded people, whatever the weather (providing it's not chucking it down). Go for it & have a blast!
