I’ll have a empty passenger seat, if anyone still wants to attend, but not in their PH car.

Hope it all went well. Sorry I didn't make it. Thick ice on the cats water bowl outside told me all I needed know about driving conditions.

Overslept I'm afraid. Looks like a beautiful morning for it, but depressing traffic spoiled the party. Just how early do you need to get up on a Sunday in winter for a clear run? frown

Was good to see you guys this morning. Was having to take it easy as the TVR isn't the best on bumpy Kent roads.

Sods law that we got to the decent roads, then the bloody thing decided to gain some extra 'character'. Still, I had a nice breakfast while waiting for recovery.

Thanks to all those that made it out this morning, apologies for shooting from breakfast!

Glad you made it back ok too phil!

Maybe better waiting until the weathers a little warmer to the next one....although ok in the majority there were a few arse clench moments!!!

Bit of a stranger on these forums lately but been here almost since day one!

I've been watching this thread & hats off to the organisers, I know how hard it is to pull stuff like this together.

Did you get the Chim sorted? Hope all is ok but if I can be of any help pleaase let me know as we're neighbours!

Thankyou Nick - The dashboard suddenly went dead, thinking it was a fuse issue, I pulled over, that's when I saw some smoke from the nearside coming out of the bonnet.

It was dropping what looked like coolant underneath (slight fishy smell). So it's off to Taylor TVR next week.

No problem AFAIC. Believe me, it was much better than damp roads with lots of leaf fall!
The worst bit I found was the very early part: dazzle from driving head on towards the low risen sun.
The wind on top of the Downs was a bit fierce as well. eek

The only potentially 'interesting' bit was that patch of ice on the left hander...
Other than that nothing, so I have no idea what any others may have been.
Mind you, I didn't see you for much of the run. wink

The element of surprise from unscheduled route deviations was something I hadn't anticipated.
In particular the Porsche led 'mystery town tour'. All is forgiven though: tunnel run! biggrin

I didn't actually notice but I think we left later than the time Kieran originally intended.

+1. Although it wiil be date dependent for me. Calendar is filling up fast

@Hol. Apologies about the return journey. Caught all the traffic at exactly the wrong moments. rolleyes
In particular that horsebox: it properly knackered one of the best bits.
Mightily relieved when it went the other way at that junction smile

Fishy smell can often be hot plastic, check your relays in particular.

Absolutely loved that route..
Thanks to Kieran for organising..
Great roads (what ice?)
Great Weather (if a touch on the ‘chilly’ side)
Great Car Line Up
Great company
Good to meet you all..
I look forward to the next 1
(Hope the TVR is a cheap fix)

Yeah it was mainly that corner TBH - LH bend, off camber and slush ice invisible until your on it, coupled with an oncoming car - no idea how I got round on the R888's tbh, even kept it vaguely straight!

Anybody got any pictures? I decided against it considering the (poor) quality of my phone!

Any chance in could have the directions please. If I’m bored I might try the route on my own one Sunday morning.

Stops any 10 pint Saturday night cider session hehe

This was the plan (ex-the accidental diversions I took) and part 3 we didn't have time/traffic would have killed

I'm gutted I missed this. Definitely up for a future one - the route looks great. I ended up having other commitments, but it did allow for about an hour out in the car early Sunday morning. Road conditions were good, no traffic to speak of, so had a great time. Would have just been nice to share it with a few likeminded souls! Next time ...
