Who's up for a blat in kent
Discussion
Did anything get organised? I've just seen this and would be keen to join too (Lotus Elise).
I'm based in West Kent so wondering whether it's best to have separate East vs West routes that converge somewhere for breakfast if there are sufficient numbers for both? I'm happy to offer up suggested routes for West Kent if nobody has already...

Ive done one of these drives before with the guy who owns a lotus, the whole thing was a little too quick for me and quite a few people ended up getting left behind, me being one of them... not his fault, I'm just not quick enough
I had a very different experience "with the guy who owns a lotus"... I went for my first Kent run in May 2007 and I only had a little Toyota Celica 2.0 at the time, which was definitely not fast enough to keep up with most of them, but Jay pulled over multiple times waiting for me so I wouldn't lose the convey.
To this day, I still remember the whole group, and especially Jay, making me feel very welcome and it didn't seem to matter at all that my little car wasn't fast or expensive enough. He wasn't annoyed or frustrated, he just wanted to group to stay together and for everyone to have a good time.
I soon upgraded my car and at least in my GTO I was able to keep up a bit better, and attended many more awesome runs, following F40's through the Dartford tunnel, and chasing TVR's on country lanes. There were the Ace cafe meets, the runs to Supercar Sunday in Gaydon, the Xmas hoons and the Wilton house events. Good times!

I know that question was meant for someone else, but I just want to thank you again for that first Kent run Jay. It was awesome, and it was my introduction to Pistonheads which has become a large part of my life here. 14 years later and I still attend the monthly breakfast- and evening meet twice a month with the Essex crew, some of which have become my close friends who I speak to daily.
And all that came from that little Kentrun in my Celica trying to keep up with your black Elise S1... Cheers dude!
A bit of Nostalgia...
I'll put my hand up to organise a run in Kent for anyone interested. It'll have to be November for a Sunday morning as the next couple of months are mad for me.
Otherwise for anyone in the Tonbridge area, I'd be more than happy to organise a mid week run out to a pub somewhere before it gets too dark.

@Ben I’m also not far from Tonbridge so would be up for a mid week evening drive. What about down to the pilot at Dungeness? It’s a lovely drive through Goudhurst/Sissinghurst/Biddenden/Appledore/Romney Marsh.
I’m also up for a Sunday morning in Nov.
Great idea, although I think we may have to reserve that route for the Sunday morning run. If we meet at 6/6:30 in the week, it'll be dark by the time we get there already!I’m also up for a Sunday morning in Nov.
Next couple of weeks are a bit manic for me but should be able to do a mid week run week of 20th/27th September so will keep an eye on the weather and start a thread/PM those that have expressed interest on here for a local run from Tonbridge.
Could head over to Henry VIII at Hever for a lemonade and loop around some of the roads in that area – happy to take some more suggestions though!

Was that the one where we all split into separate groups?.14 years later and I still attend the monthly breakfast- and evening meet twice a month with the Essex crew, some of which have become my close friends who I speak to daily.

I’m also in for either of those dates for an evening run out.
Do you want to post in the main events section as this area seems to have tumble weed blowing around?
Thread posted here for Tuesday 28th September. I've posted in this forum for this one, as would probably be better the keep the numbers low for a first run out (that I've organised at least!) to see how it goes and we'll almost certainly encounter traffic.Do you want to post in the main events section as this area seems to have tumble weed blowing around?
I'll then look to organise an early Sunday morning run in November when things have quietened down a bit.

Just had a rummage through my files: 17th August 2008.I wonder how many of those who took part in Jay's epic Kent Runs in those days are still active.
You got me.
The road in these two is epic. Unfortunately, in several places the surface has deteriorated badly since then (as have far too many others in Kent).

Sounds like a plan. Breakfast at the finish?
