Chap near me has a slightly modded white one of those - looks good, sort of a metallic pearl white.

White XJ-S (with cool gold split rims) on the outskirts of SWF early evening, followed by a Tigra sporting a Knight Rider style pulsarring LED grill thing.

Earlier in the day a mean looking & sounding white Exige (maybe a 430) in central Chelmsford.
The white XJ-S was me, though the wheels are standard five spokes but with gold centres (unless there is another white XJ-S with gold wheels around!)
wavey small world!

Wheels looked like split's at a glance - look good though - assume that one's a V12?
It is! A 6.5 litre V12 with a manual gearbox, I had a quicker drive home than usual laugh

What were you in?

This is the car:

Oh and I forgot I saw a white/light grey AM V12 Vantage convertible on the A127 this morning.

Blimey, that'll be a beast. I was in a grey Pug 208 GTI - stealth travelling.

Few today, all in Great Baddow: a black MG TC & a garden full of Reliants (Scimitar GTE & SS1's) that I hadn't noticed before, and a couple of old Audi 100's (C3 body).

Few mins later & a brand new Dodge RAM 1500 pick-up heading onto the A12 at the Baddow junction.

Yes it certainly is quite fast. How do you find the 208, they're supposed to be a lot of fun from what I've heard?

Only one spot in Essex for me this morning, which was an old white and red Beetle near the A12.

Spotted a couple this afternoon. Firstly this little BMW in Bexley (and also a maple brown XJ SIII parked up near the A2), and a 944 S2 leaving the A2 at the M25

208's quite fun to hammer about the lanes in & quick enough as a DD and looks pretty good (IMO). I'd prefer it if there was a Rallye version though (so long as I could spec A/C).

I'm not so keen on the steering feel & the small steering wheel's odd & as w/ modern cars visibilty out isn't great. It's also got bizarrely long doors, which is really annoying when some parks next to you!

I've not long sold my 208GTi after 5 years of fun motoring. I would recommend one over a Fiesta anyday although going back to conventional sized steering wheel after that amount of time did seem odd. The standard car has fairly soft comfortable but controlled suspension although the Peugeot Sport model is a bit more hardcore if that's your thing.

Funnily enough I was thinking about a Fiesta w/ Mountune (old model) as a change to the Pug but GT86/BRZ's are now looking reasonable dosh.

After many many years of hot hatches, I decided it was about time to grow up and get something more comfortable and sensible, so I got a Mercedes. But fear not. I still have the Sunbeam for some old skool fun.
GT86 is a good shout but supposedly, needs a bit more power. Do miss the 208 though, it's a good car.

Cool car - photo taken @ North Weald?

I had a CLK a few years ago - company car, loved that; only Merc I've had.

I've had a few hot hatches, though only one or two were ever dailies. However every time I've considered buying one in the past few years I keep just going for something sillier instead.

A Rallye version would be fun though TC!

I've had quite a few hatches now - Pug being the most recent.

Sadly I think the days of Rallye versions are probably over - the new Yaris GR looks good though & has that feel about it, although no stripped out; more rally rep territory.

Couple of spots this morning in Stock: blue '50's Chevy pick-up & a black McLaren (not sure of the model).

The Yaris GR does look great, and the fact its going to be available from £300pcm is pretty impressive.

A few spots for me yesterday, an original NSX near Cranham, a yellow 355 Spider on Imperial's forecourt in Romford (which I think you saw on their Chelmsford forecourt TC?). A grey Aventador shortly after that in Romford, then a Morgan and a GranTurismo on the A12. Also saw a Gransport at SWF the other day

Is it a contender for the future?

Seen a few today, all on the A127 or near/in Canvey. A red S3 Elise, a Land Rover Series 3, a Silver Seraph, a Turbo RT (which looked great), a pink Cadillac and a very enthusiastically driven Unimog.

Also keep seeing a silver GT3 RS recently.

It is very cool (the Yaris) & ticks lots of boxes but it's a bit more dosh than I'm comfortable w/ as a DD.

There's a couple of tree surgeons around here w/ Unimog's as works wagons - monsters.
