Hi everyone,

The BG family are thinking of a three week fly-drive in the USA next year. We plan to fly into New Orleans, pick up a rental car, head west, then return home from Las Vegas.

I want to hire a 'proper' full size American car, the bigger and lardier the better, any recommendations as to what to go for? (that is likey to be on the rental fleets).

Also, we want to see the principal sights such as Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon and the like. But what else can you guys recommend that may not be listed in amongst the usual tourist attractions? Particularly 'motor' related.

I thank you in advance.

BG.

Biggest vehicle I've rented in the US was a Dodge Grand Caravan people carrier when six of us went to Orlando last year. If you want to go silly, then a Lincoln Town Car is the lardiest of them all, in my opinion

Not much car stuff in New Orleans (was there in October) but in Vegas there is the musuem on the 5th floor of the Imperial Palace and Shelby's factory and museum is just a few miles out of Vegas at the Motor Speedway.

I hope you realise that New Orleans to Las Vegas is a fair drive!
