Meadows Roundabout Improvements.

So, apparently, the Meadows Roundabout is to be reconfigured, it has been talked about for ages, but I have yet to see any concrete plans, and considering the chaos that I am sure the 21 months of roadworks will cause, starting in two and a half months, I had to dig around to find the attached.

Anyone else aware of this?
It would appear that part of the plan involves making the A30 bypass the roundabout, which is no bad thing, and I have also heard that the road which heads onto the roundabout, running between the petrol station and Next is to close.
Anyone else know anything more?

I can't wait to do my shopping at Tesco / M&S / Sainsbury's once the works start - that should be fun 
Until now, there doesn't seem to have been anything clear outlined for public consumption, and based on the estimated start date of late this year, or early 2016, it doesn't look like anything probably will be. Although at least we can be sure of a couple of years of traffic hell in that area.
Even more so considering the M3 corridor works still have another year plus until they're fully completed, I can't wait to see what happens when all the traffic spills off after one of the many regular accidents in the roadworks zone and straight into a massive slow moving roadwork zone.
I noticed loads of bumph in that report about improved cycle lanes, bus lanes, etc, and a general sway towards encouraging people not to use their car and instead use public transport, but that's not too surprising in the current climate I guess.
Loads of management in words as well to keep the councillors & politicians happy too
I particularly liked "Step-Up Town" "PEARS" and the business quote of "Happier staff means a happier business"

Of course that's the idea! I suspect gross traffic flow around the roundabout will decrease after this, in the same way it has at all the other roundabouts that have been tampered with. Be nice if they'd provided us with an actual map style plan. Be easier to work out what they're going to do. I actually had a conversation with a lady a couple of weeks ago on one of the goverment helplines. I called to the number on the signs by the side of the road to find out when the roadworks at the a329(m) / M4 would finish.king pisstake! I heard main priority was for bus lanes round the roundabout .if like junc 11 m4 where you never see a bus use them .
Also if it takes them 7 weeks to change over 6 sets of lights in sandhurst will prob take 3 yrs to do this roundabout
If anything cut down the trees and open it up be clearer and safer and put some yellow square boxes in to help dopey drivers

Exactly - it only took 1 year to build a relatively small roundabout on the A3095 for Broadmoor access, so 21 months is probably as quick as the f******s can manage! king pisstake! I think it must be a national competition for each local authority to make using its roads as miserable as possible in the hope drivers go somewhere else, but as they all seem to be doing it going elsewhere is no less miserable!
There will be nothing SMART about the M3 so as long as its used by dozy fk wit drivers
that cannot stop using their hand held phone, sat nav in the centre of screen on floodlite mode.
Cannot grasp that if you are leaving at the next exit you need to be in lane 1 not lane 4.
And the increased morons who cannot replace a defective head lamp or get them set up correctly
and think using fog lights because one of the headlamps has failed is acceptable.
I have some very useful back road routes which means I can get from M25 to Bagshoit whilst avoiding the M3
and all those who sail upon it ...

Good it's noted but will never probably get rid of it ,personally would change back of next to two route .long term try to connect Owlsmoor bottom of foresters way over to a30 Kings ride area .
Just make lanes clearer amount of near misses I see and have had on roundabout , change junc by aldi

even though Hants have successfully pulled a few of theirs recently such as the one near Farnborough Gate.Mind you, the more people that refuse to use it, means for a quicker trip in that direction
Well, so long as you avoid a couple of the sink holes that have developed over the last couple of years I've even noticed the odd bus driving out of the bus lane to purposely avoid them.

Takes me back!Tank Road as it is called was indeed 2 way in the mid-80s, because Next, Tesco, M & S, the Meadows roundabout and the dual-carriageway weren't there!
So Tank Road onto Yorktown Road was the only way to get to Sandhurst, and to get to Crowthorne you had to go past Kings DIY store then turn right onto Crowthorne Road.
But I think going back to that would make journey times a bit longer!
