Morning all,

Just seeing if there is an appetite for a get together in Cobham, in the next few weeks/ months.

A few locals have come out of the woodwork on the GT4 thread in the Porsche forum in the last couple of days, so I thought I'd start a thread to assess interest.

The Fairmile pub on the Old Portsmouth Road seems to host a few car clubs, so I could give them a call and see if they have a 'free' Saturday/ Sunday in the next couple of months where we could use the green out the front of the pub for parking/ walking round the cars:

http://www.chefandbrewer.com/pub/fairmile-portsmou...

A quick search suggests that it has been done before:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Would anyone be interested?

I can also recommend the Black Swan in Ockham as they do a monthly car meet but there isn't the parking area that the Fairmile has.

Any thoughts/ ideas - feel free to reply!

Edit to say: ALL makes and marques are more than welcome! We'll be there in at least 2 cars as no doubt the dog will be in tow smile

Count me in. I was planing to go to the next Black Swan Ockham Sunday drive in (8.30am, Sunday 8th May I think) anyway but yes let's try to do something ourselves. Early Saturday and Sunday mornings best I reckon.

Sorry. Brain failure. Sunday 14th. Not 8th.

Yep - if it's a date / time when I'm free, I may well attend.

Good stuff - Seems to be some interest!

Tonker suggested maybe The Onslow Arms at Clandon if we can't get availability.

I'll make some calls and look at some dates smile

Maybe I'll do a poll if we get a few possible dates.

Would be nice to get a few folk along in different cars.

They open at 8am anyway, so should be ok for an early car and coffee meet I would guess.

Would be keen to meet as suggested, but for it will be a month or so as I'm out of the country for most of May.

Havent done my photoshoot Newlands corner yet - too many bikers in the way last w/e.

I'd be starting from Craleigh so all suggested destinations work. Parrot in Forrest Green good too.

I'm in, set a date week day evenings or weekends. Based in Byfleet area so would be rude not to so long as Im not busy.

Monthly meet would be good. Was just thinking there isn't much that goes on here.

Will head over this weekend and have a chat with them.

Would be nice to do something regularly but maybe lets see how the first one goes!

The Star in Malden Rushett (my local) has a few car meets, and is much better than the chav infested Fairmile.

Would I be viewed as the poor relative with my lowly 986? biggrin

I used to drive through MR everyday on my way to work in Epsom! I guess I still do, most days.

I am sure we can raise the standard of the Fairmile... It's not on the Chessington Bypass after all wink

986s would be very much welcome!

Certain caravan owners descending on the Fairmile would raise the standard - you've clearly never been there in the warmer months biggrin makes the Haywain in Epsom seem positively upmarket!

The Parrot is good and has been used by a number of owners groups but does have bumps in the carpark - my 7 has struggled before.

I had lunch (if you can call it that) at the Haywain on Monday... so, you can probably ignore any opinion I have in the future wink

Might take you up on that biggrin

It's the only place my old work buddy will meet me so we don't get spotted in Epsom town - LOL

Ok, so - have a visit to the Fairmile pencilled in for tomorrow. Will get some dates up here tomorrow.

Have woken up post-fight in a house full of girls. Sadly, they're Mrs9's friends who had a girlie night in while I was at the pub.
