Why there aren't more incidents in these narrow lanes, I don't know.

People seem to be incapable of just chilling out and getting through them, they still dodge about, tailgate anyone under about 55mph, pull alongside (and stay there) with inches between vehicles.

Going eastbound the other day, there was an HGV in front of me in lane 2 as the lanes narrowed. Did he move into lane 1? Nah, just straddle lanes 2 and 3 for the whole duration of the roadworks, then tuck in after the road went back to full width.

I think he might have been getting words/gestures from other HGVs in lane 1 who pulled alongside him.

I have to go through these every morning.
Who ever laid those cats eyes down clearly had a heavy night the night before. They are all over the show.

Why they are so long is bewildering.

Why not just keep moving it up as progress happens instead of what 8-12 miles of “spot the worker”.

Actually I did spot A worker the other afternoon he was walking along the hard shoulder towards the diggers. That is all.

As others have said you keep seeing people speed through it? I’m on the 50mph cruise control how can people be going faster and no it’s not inching faster it’s properly faster. Do they have clingfilm on number plates??

Good luck everyone - get used to it!

I spent more than 3 years using the M3 (when it was open) while it became a "Smart" motorway - now it's your turn!
