Walking the dogs near Hurley yesterday and spent a lot of the time on a footpath skirting this place:

It's massive.. Anyone got any ideas what it is? Hard to tell from Google maps.

Coordinates are 51.532679,-0.820289

No real reason, just being nosey!

I remember a lot of work being done on that place several years ago - I think they extended/rebuilt whatever was there previously. I don't go past there very often now, but for a massive house on a hillside, it's surprisingly well hidden from the main road. I guess you can see it better from the other side of the valley.

Maybe owned by some sort of James Bond villain as they appear to have an anti-satellite laser smile

The reality is a bit more mundane. Owned by a property developer (whos name escapes me). Huge estate, the guy obviously loves his horses too...

And next door to what for a period of times was the most expensive house sold in the UK

Possibly (but unlikely?) part of the original estate which he sold to developers of I remember?

Yes, loads of paddocks each fenced off all in perfect condition. Looked like it was all designed around horses but we didn't see a single one!
