Is there one?

We seem to have a superb Indian these days (Sanjha) but despite living here for many years I've yet to find a decent Chinese.
Have used New Era in Fleet for several years but but haven't been that impressed the last few times, plus I have to go and get it.

Any recommendations? Fancy Chinese tonight!

Wing lee
220 frimley green road
Seems to be the most consistent at not being dripping in sweat and grease
Better than any near me I’ll add so we travel from farnborough to get it

Have you tried Golden Rice in North Camp? We live at the Cove end of Farnborough but they will deliver to us so I'm sure they will to Camberley. Having tried many in the area, I would recommend this one. HTH

Watching the thread with interest. We moved to the area 18 months ago and use the Ali Shan, Frogmore near Blackwater as a very good take away/delivery Indian but have yet to find a decent Chinese! I might give some of these suggestions a try.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've ordered from Golden Rice -will update once I've tried the food. If I'm not impressed, Wing Lee will be next!

Gold rice in North Camp was my go to Chinese when I lived there. There is also the more up market one on the main road through North Camp, can't remember the name now though, food was excellent there, but it's a restaurant with a takeout option, but you collect

Ok, dinner eaten. Overall, it was OK - but I don't think it was better than the alternatives I've used before and I don't think I would order there again.

Negatives:
Prawn toast was awful - thin, overcooked and tasted of nothing but oil.
Special fried rice was not special - almost entirely rice.
Ribs were quite fatty

Positives:
Special chow mein made up for the rice - in fact, I would have liked a few more noodles and bit less special!
King Prawn Kung Po was pretty good, plenty of big prawns
Sweet and sour chicken was nothing special but at least had noticeable chicken in the batter.

I'll try one of the others next time - or I may even make the effort to do it myself. That was the plan this weekend but I just couldn't face the shopping!

Mr Lau on Heatherside is good, but we haven't tried many others around here.

On the subject of takeaways, any decent suggestions? Not just Chinese..

Farnborough recommendations rather than Camberley but most deliver a reasonable radius.

Golden Dragon in North Camp
Super Wok also in North Camp, I particuarly like their minispring rolls, not that mini and delicious.
Top Wok in Deepcut is also pretty good.

I used to make my own prawns on toast, it beat the restaurant hands down but it was so messy!

Being a Chinese person I should probably open a takeaway or restaurant but most of those dishes aren't proper Chinese food wink

A bit far, but IMO worth the trip

Golden Wall in Harmanswater Bracknell

DiL whose family used to run the Hong Kong in Easthampstead ( acknowledged by many as the best take away in Bracknell), says it is the only one that comes near to her Dads!!

We go to Kings in Odiham, out of your way but we like the food there whether eating in or taking out. Just off the M3!

Wish there was one near Yorktown.
I work in the big secret silver building, and all there is to eat on nights is Mcd, KFC, or Subway.

Its taken us 2 years of living in Frimley to find a decent Indian, as despite there being loads round here they are all st.

Ash Vale Tandoori is awesome, amazing food and slightly less expensive than most Indians, which are always expensive.

We used a Chinese called Silver Dragon some time back, was very good, but loads of poor ones. You tend to get 1 good chines for every 8 ordered.

Chens in Blackwater is really good. Never overly greasy like others and very generous portions. Awful website though...
