I got an SP50 from a bridge above the M3 just after the "Smart Motorway" finishes between 4a and 5. My fauilt entirely, he was in clear view waiting for people to speed up after 20 miles of speed checking from the M25 onwards.

Saw them at this exact location coming home around two-three weeks ago. My Waze went mental with about 100 police notifications then I saw them. They clearly used that bridge to catch the ' out of smart section and boot it to 80+ brigade' must be like shooting fish in a barrel.

I mentioned ages ago about never seeing speed checks on M3 despite extensively using it for 18/19 years and to whoever that was who was arguing to the contrary I apologize. You were right they do exist. beer

They are just revenue raising. It's not a dangerous part of the motorway.

I drive over the bridge near Fleet / 4A as part of my commute, and they've been on there twice this week. Can't remember seeing them there before in the last few years, and certainly not twice in a few days.
