One of the routes I do (~100 miles) is to head to Basingstoke on the A30, then down the A339 through Alton towards Petersfield. Onto the A272 to Petworth, then up through Milford to the A3 / A31 / A331 back to Camberley.

A disappointing amount of the 339 is 50mph now though - and you're lucky if you don't get stuck behind something. But if you don't...... smile

This reminds me of a route I organised a couple of years ago. We went from roughly the north downs down to the Meon valley and back in one large loop 50 - 90 miles if I recall.

Route was:

Get to the A287 then south on B3349 down to Lasham (the Avenue)
Then north on A339, then turn left on to the B3046, this takes you south through the “Candovers”
Through Old Alresford then right on to A31 Westbound.
Catch the A272 Eastbound, follow to the crossroads A32 Southbound and stopped at the pub “The Bucks Head.
We then headed back North along the A32 to pick up the A31 Eastbound and headed home.

Great on a nice Sunny afternoon or Summer’s evening.

Cheers,
Mario

Long time reader, first time poster (in this section). I'm on the other side of Bisley and would be happy to meet up too.

The roads to Petworth are cracking, there's also some fantastic roads around here too, such as the back roads from Pirbright to Frimley (B3012), around Ash Vale range (Seale and Puttenham) and through Steep (Petersfield Road) on the way to Portsmouth. We usually drive through the Steep area and end up in Goodwood Aerodrome for a fry up and leisurely drive back.

Looking forward to decent weather
