Pretty sure the Cranford Agreement officially actually expired a few years ago.....seem to remember my cousin who is a NATS manager in the Heathrow Tower telling me that in a conversation about general stuff during one of our coffee meets in central area a couple of years ago.


Anyway, any talk of 3rd runway and expansion at LHR I think is perhaps a mute point now post Covid, as my gut feeling is there won't be the finance available to do it in a post Covid world, given the huge losses at HAL as a result and the likely decrease in business travel and other travel over the next 5 years, to be able to claw back funds.

3rd runway was due to be in operation by 2030, but that was on the timeline of 6 years ago, which assumed a start on site date of 2019 IIRC......which is now way behind the curve on that programme..!!

Even if it still does go ahead, you're now looking at 2035-2040 before it would likely be in operation.
