Perhaps Redhill?
Three Bridges, Crawley. 32 mins to Victoria.
Apart from the often awful Southern Rail, these are all fairly decent and are better than Chessington.

I'm quite close to Crawley, but in surrey. There is fairly decent countryside within hitting distance:
- north downs
- south downs
- ashdown forest

Not sure how far £400k goes but I think 3 beds are in budget. Like all places there are bits more desirable than others.

If I was buying again I would probably have moved further into Sussex, as the days of travelling into London appear to be over.

What they said!

I mean, there are worse places, I suppose. You get a lot for your money considering the fact that it's the south east.

Lived in Chessington for nearly 20years moved out 18 months ago, have a look at all the plans for the area, infrastructure is already stretched World of Adventures causes traffic nightmares in the summer. Also falls under Mr. Khans rule!

And regular traffic along that road enough to make you cry. I don't know why they haven't sorted it out over the years. I just avoid having to visit the Barwell Trading Estate around evening rush hour time (had a decent gym and Euro Car Parts).
