Coming home last night and signs were on gfr 50 'due to workman in road.... only they were not. However sat on indocated 54 on speedo and everyone else were on same speed o was L1 and two just behind me in 2 and 3.

As we approached the next sign with the 50 in a circle one chap in L4 went through at well over 50 and no flash.and he was well up the road .As we went under about 3/4 sec later BANG BANG

I didnt have the Sat nav on so checked later and that said when the speedo was reading 55ish i was showing 53/4 mph

So do these new one give no quarter and hit you below the recommended 10%+2 ? will be pi55ed off if the L4 guy getrs away but a gaggle of us all get leeters in the next 14 days . Still hopefully a awareness course and no points

.

I drive this regularly, they flashed me at 53 ish in a 50 a month ago, as I suspected no action taken. I have also seen them flash from the opposing carriageway too. They seem very unpredictable so do not worry at all.

That said, they do work as my wife found out the hard way twice during lockdown 1, so don't speed either.

A mate of mine has literally just been done on the M3 between M25 and Bracknell.....that was on 05/03/22, had his NIP within the week last week. It was a recorded 62mph in a Variable "50" zone.

He drives like an idiot at times, so it's complete justified. (I expect his dash was probably showing something closer to 65-68mph in reality, so bang to rights).

I stick with the max of 5mph over whatever it says and that means I'm still one of the quicker cars in that section.

Got overtaken by a hearse coming down the M3 last night.

I was doing 80 at the time!

Maybe his passenger wanted to be first in the next world!

I moved to Sandhurst in 2011 so have often used the M3 between J2 and J4 since then and always drive at the limit +10% on the speedo, which is probably optimistic anyway, and have never had a problem so far.

I thought I got flashed at 85-90ish a few weeks ago. Nothing has come through so it even didn't flash or I got away with it.
