Part of the Henley to Marlow was closed last night, apparently a car vs bike. Anyone know more? A popular road with a lot of my biking acquaintances.

Never a good mix……. Nothing reported in The Standard mind you and it was open the next morning as I went through in my usual route - so hopefully not serious, fingers crossed

Very late reply - haven't been in here for ages.
This was the son of a pal of mine. Late 20's biker.
He's OK now, but it's been a rough journey.
Pulled out to overtake and didn't see the oncoming Jeep.

Numerous broken bones and lots of internal damage. Initially, it was thought he might lose Big Jim and the Twins, but I believe they are all still all intact. As for their function? I have no idea.
Broken arms, legs, hip, numerous ribs, sternum and shoulder. I believe he had damage to bladder, spleen, kidneys and liver.
I spoke with his dad (my pal), last week and the son is back at work and saving for another bike.
I have no idea what the permanent damage is, or if there are "life changing" effects, but he is extremely lucky to be alive.

Thanks for the update. With nothing in the papers I was thinking it can't have been as bad as it first appeared, but apparently it was.

I'm staggered by the papers comment. Hardly any major accidents will make the papers, do you know how many there are on a day to day basis?

Even fairly minor accidents often make local papers such as the Henley Standard.. Especially if an important road is shut for hours as a result.

I think you would be surprised about the amount of public reporting on RTC's.
