wavey Is there room for another newbie(ish) to join you guys!?

Having had a passenger ride in Pete's Chim it was enough to make me want one... just purchased a 450 from Fernhurst (although it won't be ready yet).... am definitely looking forward to coming out on some local meets.

This is the place on the main crossroads isn't it? If so then it's very good! Normally some space to park over at the Griffin pub if you need it.

Have they stopped clamping there then?

That's a very good question! I've not had any trouble before, but thinking about it that's probably because i've had a pint in the pub first.

It's prob best not to risk it. Does anyone know any of the side roads that would be ok?

Thanks for the warning John.
Cheers
Dave

Have to miss it guys as I'm working away at the moment
(and am grumpy as I still haven't got my car back)

Catch you at the next one...

Where's Touching Cloth?! - Just remembered I briefly drove down to Lemans with him last year.

Caversham is my stomping ground (and if I was'nt dumping my car at my parents house nearby wink) I'd try to park at either of the following:

Just off the road (A4074) outside Caversham Court which is just up from the Griffin as the road curves round to the left (to the west of the Spice Oven). This does get filled up though but you may be able to find a spot.

Up above Caversham Court on The Warren (left off A4074). There is always space here. Once parked its a 3 min walk to the Spice Oven - cut through the graveyard from The Warren to get back on to the A4074 by entrance to Caversham Court.

You may also be able to find a space on the A4074 directly outside the Griffin or on the other side of the road if you're lucky, there are parking bays there. St Anne's Rd may also have a cheeky spot near the bottom, but I would'nt bother looking personally: most likely full of residents cars.

Is it open at night? I know the barriers on the official entrance (don't know if they operate though!), but theres probably nothing to stop you nipping in and out via Abbotsmead Place-Wolsey Rd-Gosbrook Rd anyhow.

Theres a Pay & Display car park off Chester St too, which is basically opposite Waitrose. Gets full though.

No thanks mate. Crashing at my parents house as its only 10min walk away. Be coming straight from the station to Caversham with Colin (Lakelord).

Are we having a pint in the Griffin or Crown beforehand?

Griffin sounds good - what sort of time you in to Reading? I can be there whenever...

Griffin it is then drink Aiming for 7pm at the moment.

Colin - if you're reading this I expect to be getting a train from Paddington approx 18:15, arrive in Reading 18:45. Tried to ring you just now (on my work number, which you don't have) - could not connect to your phone - will try later.

I'm toying with coming up for this, as I love a good curry house. Have the new car now and a drive would be fun. But have an early start for work tomorrow but I know thats no excuse here.

Did we decide on parking options, I dont want to leave the MERC somewhere dodgy biggrin

Places I suggested originally are not dodgy IMO.

Early start is no excuse Alex - I'll be up early tomorrow as ever.
