I have to be there for a train at 7.40am and work aren't paying, does anyone know if there's any free parking within say half a mile of the station...thanks!

If you can get there early enough, try the road opposite the cricket ground in horsell common. Lterally next to where LA Fitness is. Free parking down there as it's just outside the permit zone, or at least used to be anyway. Failing that, anywhere around Arthurs Bridge Road at that time in the morning would be ideal.

Only a 15 min walk from there to the station.

Any of the green highlighted roads should be fine to park on if you're getting there early enough. Give yourself 15-20 mins max to get to the station.

ETA: The arrow looks like it's stating to park on Horsell Moor, but that's a permit only road. Just pointing you in the direction of the canal path to the centre smile

You should find somewhere to park that time in the morning. Just make sure there are no permit only signs around in case they've extended the boundary. I haven't parked there in 6 months so you never know!

There's a block of private flats called Kingsgate which are situated in Kingsway, just off Goldsworth Road. Its half mile from the train station, and has numerous parking bays... There are visitors bays abundant which you can use... there is no parking enforcement there...

(Little known fact and very rare nugget of info there) wink

Good stuff. Helpful to know of those areas as it's only a short walk to the town centre, and I can understand not wanting to pay £11 a day for parking in Woking.

Our office is moving to Woking mid March so hope some of the above is still relevant. If anyone has any updates please let me know. There's no way I can afford £75 a month for parking (on top of petrol costs) which seems to be the cheapest our company has found so far.

Where is that out of curiousity?

Just seen this thread resurrected, and I'm pretty sure the comments and map provided above previously will still be applicable. Its getting harder and harder to park everywhere now, but if you don't mind a 10-15 min walk from Horsell into Woking when you've moved there, then that will be your best bet.

I think you'll only get lucky there if coming from St John and parking before Morrisons. After Morrisons it's either bays by the Yamaha shop/Kwik Fit or after the mini roundabout there are yellow lines. I don't know if thy still do this but a friend used to park in the multistorey by Holiday Inn and often didn't pay as when he returned typically after 7pm the barriers were up.

You won't get away with that anymore, as all the work finished on the flats next to the holiday in and now they are so hot on parking in that multi as some were stating that they were residents, but didn't have permits (shoppers trying to get out of a few quid).

On the link to that map, as I highlighted above, I'm pretty sure you can still find spaces on Abbey Road or Horsell Moor (furthest away from the town centre. The permit zone used to run up to the end of Horsell Moor and everywhere after that was residential, but double yellowed.

However, my old office managed to negotiate with the Red Lion pub in Horsell to use some of their spaces during the day for a cheaper fee. It may be worth approaching the pub individually and asking whether it would be possible to pay them a reduced fee for one of their spaces during the week. Just a thought.

Hi, do you still have a proximity card for the shoppers' car park, please? I am starting work on Monday and don't know where to park.
