After looking through a few pages of this section of the forum ... I'm amazed I didn't find this question 1000 times!

I guess I'll go ahead and ask it x)

Can you daily a Ginetta G40? I'm considering purchasing one in the not too distant future as both my daily and something to enjoy at the weekend. I've always driven stripped out Jap cars on rock solid coilovers, so ride and road noise aren't particularly a bother to me ... I just wondered if it was feasible to drive one daily in terms of sitting in motorway traffic, driving in the rain (my last two cars have been void of traction/driving aids), etc?

Just testing the water ... so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve driven mine long distance in torrential rain (heated screen is worth its weight in gold), driven 500 miles from London to north Scotland in two days, (decent boot is no worse than my wife’s Mini Cooper and the optional tillet seats are dead comfortable), and sat in traffic jams, including a 5 hour monster due to a chemical spill on the M6. For some reason it always surprises me, but the G40 never misses a beat and manages all of the above without trouble. So in theory it could be daily driven, whether you would want to is a different matter. I look forward to the pure theatre of using it for fun at a weekend, I’d be worried that as a daily driver the same things that make me smile would eventually frustrate. Strangely, I would say it feels more raw than a Westfield or caterham. The closest comparison I’ve driven, in terms of overall feel, was a tin top race car used in a one make series. If your used to a stripped out stiff and noisy coupe then you won’t be too surprised. I have the touring sound deadening kit but not fitted so I guess there are ways to make them more comfortable.

I think you can. However as has been said elsewhere you have to want to, I would recommend some noise canceling headphones as well.
