Does anybody know something about this G12. It is pictured here at the 1000 km race Nurburgring 1969. It was entered (to my knowledge) by John Moore Racing. The paint was very significant, green on both sides, centre section in silver. The spare wheel section had cut outs for air outlet as well as the rear extended wheelhouses and also at the front under the headlights (for the brakes).
Yes, Car 41 started 49th out of 65 starters - finished 32nd - Richard Groves entered and driven by John Moore and Rhoddy Harvey-Bailey.
Nice black and white pic here of the frontal view when car pulled up.

Another Ginetta in the race did better: Car 31 Jeremy Richardson's G16.
Started 38th, finished 24th. Driven by Jeremy Richardson and Bernard Farthing.

i saw this g12 in period at nürburgring 500km and 1000km races, 1967 to 1969 John Moore and Richard Groves.
it would be nice to hear something of the whereabouts, so far as the car survived.
to my knowledge it started as a 1300cc cosworth powered car, later it was fitted obviously with lotus twin cam unit.

Nice period pics. No idea if it survived, will ask the expert Trev Pyman see if he knows.

Yes, would be nice to see it still around us.
i add another pic of my collection, showing it in the grid of the 500km nürburgring , september 1967 , just before the (le-mans)-start.
good visible are the slightly modified body with cut-outs.
by the way, i am missing a thread concerning history of ginettas, especially g12´s seem nearly beeing forgotten in their homeland obviously, what a shame.

Told you Trevor Pyman would know! Here is his reply about the G12 in question (he is the Ginetta Club Registrar).

'Yes this is the Richard Groves car and it ran at Nurburgring all those years.
John Moore was the driver all times but only paired with Harvey-Bailey in 1969 I think.
Paired with Martin Davidson in 1967 and 68.
Then in late 1969 purchased by Jack Wheeler and fitted with Williams and Pritchard body becoming the JERBOA and run at the ring in 1970, 71 and possibly even 1972 with Martin Davidson again.

Sadly this is one of the few G12 that haven’t survived, crashed and broken up by Mike Darreulat in the seventies.

Incidentally that is the Jeremy Richardson /Bernard Farthing G16 in the background in one shot.

That particular G12 probably run more international events than any other I’d say.'

That's the view of the expert on Ginettas. Very interesting.
As for the Jerboa, if you don't know that story, there is quite a bit on the web if you search.
Here is a YouTube link in 1971 Targa Florio.

many thanks dandarez for your research and very interesting but very sad result.

yes i know the Jerboa, i saw it as well, racing with Jack Wheeler at the steering-wheel at the nürburgring in period, last time 1970 in the 500km race. quite interesting, that this ginetta "in diguise" run such a lot of times in very cruel long-distance races like targa florio and so many times at the nurburgring (nordschleife of course !!).

so far as i know jack wheeler restored the jerboa. so it was crashed as jerboa by Mike Darreulat, if i get you correctly.

here is a picture of the jerboa, taken in 1970 500km race nürburgring at Wehrseifen section.
i would like to get in contact with Trevor Pyman, seemes to know a lot about .

Why are you not down for going to next weekend's PH Sunday Service at Silverstone (17th)? Could do with a G33 there, I've never seen a Ginetta at one yet!

Mind you the list is oversubscribed but loads always pull out, get your name down on the reserve list if you're free that day.

Weather supposed to improve after today, some sun and weekend looking dry. Today here in Oxfordshire 'supposed' to be getting snow for 2 hrs later on, max temp +1, but tomorrow temps rocket to +9 deg.

Weather's OK at Silverstone at the moment, cold but dry. I'm testing there Friday in the G18 so fingers crossed it does look up - last Sunday was hideous!
