just came across this ad, I totally forgot about this Ginetta G2 from 1959,
first thing I thought seeing it again today, ow a old Lotus 7

but its a Ginetta, I had to look it up who was first, it seems lotus at 1957?

wonder how that went those days, did one copy-ish the other or? was the original drawing from someone else then lotus or ginetta?

also, it does not look expensive for such aluminium Ginetta G2 seems pretty rare.

GTRene, the Ginetta G2 was in the design stages at a similar time, by 1959 Ginetta (or rather Walklett Bros Ltd as it was then) had been selling G2s for a while.

Here's one of the first car mag features in Autosport on 7th Feb 1958 when it was in production -
there was an earlier feature in, of all things, Lotus & Sports Car Owner!!

With travel restrictions eased, tourism still restricted (read empty roads) and some awsome weather in North Wales it would be a shame not to get the Ginetta out smile

That looks amazing in that colour, not a colour I would have consider until now.
Really shows off the diminutive size.
I took that pic (several) - that's my recently purchased new Mini JCW next to it at Silverstone in the car park 2009. I'd gone to view it with view to buy, but didn't.
That G4 was a long-wheel-base model hence reg plate G4 LWB.
Here's a couple more shots that day. G4 is a great car to drive.

Thanks... I have really enjoyed the process of setting up and improving/modifying the G27.
All an essential part of Ginetta ownership in my opinion, you really get to know the car and get it how you want it to be.
It's not finished completely (are they ever finished completely) but it's in a really good spot now and I'm enjoying the driving.

ps. you know you have arrived when you make the cover of a magazine biggrin (Thanks to John Morrison - Newsmag Ed)

That looks mean, moody and menacing - a bit like my bank manager!

a G4 and a Classic mini even better comparison.

G4s really are very small. I park mine next to the Boxster or even the Eunos and it looks like an optical illusion.

I "Think" it now has a Rover V8 in it after the previous owner had an "incident" where both the car and the owner did not do well. The previous V8 I think also had Nitrous injection available!!!
Last I knew Duncan now has the car and is restoring it after said incident.

Just open photo (say on Windows 'Photos', go to 'rotate' and click. Or say in 'Paint' again go to 'rotate' and rotate whatever degrees you wish.
Then 'Save'.

Pic illustration of procedure.

Bingo!!

And I think that's a Dare G4 that's slightly bigger than the earlier G4's :P
