Have you checked the fault codes?

I had a 1.8 Mondeo Mk3 with the same issue...ended up being a cracked block.

Could be many things though, starting with leads and plugs, which would be trivial.

Internet won't fix it, a garage etc would.

Hi no fault codes
No loss of fluids totally stumped
Hoping it was something simple like stuck valves.

Engine is shot how? Cleaning the throttle body could help with the emissions.

Another +1 for the coil pack. Mine suddenly started running on 3, I thought it was likely to be something major but checked compression etc and all fine, swapped the coil pack and it was perfect again.

From experience I've found the zetec doesn't like aftermarket coil packs, I fitted two brand new ones which made a misfire worse, fitting a secondhand but genuine one cured the issue.

get it read again, if there is a missfire there should be a fault code for it, either misfire on a certain cylinder or a general misfire, even if there is no managment light it will log a misfire next, i cant make head or tail of that last reply please only post when sober.
